[...]"next generation console projects".

I'm fairly sure they are working on porting RO to Nintendo DS. If you like ironsights you're gonna love pen-aiming! It's a little bit harder, but the devs are going to balance the game by turning the russians into giant, red, rotating "fun-spheres" (in keeping with Nintendo tradition...after all, games are for kids)

Hmm perhaps it will be Team-RO-Fortress2 where you can jump around like a spaced out bunny and shoot mini nukes whilst shouting abuse like a 5 yr old on a sugar rush

I thought TWI was supposed to be revealing the new game just after the game conference thingy that replaced E3 this year?

I hope they will do some front/battle that has never been done before.
Sorta like RO was in the mod days, when noone even touched the russian front, and it was all about D-Day.

I just hope it's not WWII because people are bored of it. Now it's all about modern combat. If TWI wants to be original, I would suggest realistic futuristic apocalyptic combat. Like Mad Max but then with tanks and large scale combat.

If TWI will put enough effort and money in marketing for their next game, then a modern combat simulation would probably become very popular. Come to think of it, there hasn't been a realistic modern combat multiplayer game yet. Well, there's INS, but we need something that isn't Source. :p

I think many people want such a game, remember how incredibly busy the INS forums were on the day of release? Or just look at the popularity of ArmA.

However it would have to be a very special game in order to beat ArmA from its "modern combat simulation" throne. Same thing if they make "RO2"; people are getting tired from WWII by now like you said.... so it would have to be VERY good.

Futuristic realism would also be pretty cool, agreed. Then again, there have already been a few games based on that setting.

Personally, I don't really care which setting their next game will be in, but if they stick with the FPS genre I do hope that they make the level design on a 1:1 scale ala Kriegstadt or ArmA. And if it's multiplayer, teamwork options should be a big priority.

an historical correct realistic fps game. I've always wanted to form a phalanx formation to stop the charging barbarians.

Please not. TW is WW2. I'd very upset if it isn't so.

ATTENTION TRIPWIRE

Merge with the Airbuccaneers team and make an incredible remake of Airbuccaneers but with artillery!

*For those who don't know what Airbuccaneers is; it is a mod for UT2004 and came 3rd in the "make something unreal" competition. It's a piratish type world where the peasants fight the buccaneers and the fights take place in the skies, in these old rickety hot-air balloons with......wait for it.......CANNONS!

Oh yeah and there are swordfights.

How can you say no?

I dunno if ppl are bored of ww2, I never will be , but it's certainly covered.

I would have no real objection i guess to a futuristic shooter ( be it post apocalypse or future tech whatever) but like all sci-fi it needs to be very good cos as it doesn't have the attraction of RL elements to fall back on.
But i'd prefer more technical gameplay, like dystopia or even a deus ex style mp, than an open laser blaster like QW or battlefield 2xxx etc.

but sticking with Vietnam based, i forgot to add I would like a decent involved campaign, and an excellent co-op mode.
So again, a spiritual successor to vietcong.

If RO changed from WW2, I wouldnt buy it. If you want futuistic realism, buy BF2142 :D
It would be good if they moved onto like Northern European combat.

To be honest, I won't buy RO2: Normandy, no matter how good it would be - it's just beaten to death already.
Personally, I'd like to see Israeli conflicts in 1960s, or Afghan war '79-'89 (Chechnya sounds good also, but that's on edge)
