I was able to get multiple native voices by changing the SingleVoiceVariation=False.
Ohh my god why did i found out about this only now...
We need an option to change that without swaping files!

Oh, I'm sorry, I will just go and change some files. Nothing hard at all, except that there was supposed to be an option to do that from release, which is why I'm trying to remind TW that they should add that in the next patch.

Stop being ignorant. It doesn't help anyone.

TWI never said anything about adding in an option for it.

Actually, I specifically remember them pointing out during the beta phases that having you have all the Russian, German, English, and any other language sound files switchable by a click would cause problems, and take up too much space.

There are RO2 Tweakers out there, go search. Don't ask them for something they did not promise, and something that's pointless.

If I wanted to join the Russian army, I would preferably want to learn to speak Russian. Same for any other army.

I'd like to know what's happening in combat. Are the accents to cheesy for you? Just get over it. They worked pretty damn hard are the voicings with over 1500 lines recorded. And you are asking them for an option so you can ignore their work?

Don't be that guy. Seriously.

"That guy" Meaning what? It's true, if you want realism, it's right there.

Not trying to be harsh or anything guys, but it's down right stupid for it.

I just don't find it right of TWI's time when you can just go here: http://koppo.info/?page_id=20 get the tweaker, and get more than what you asked for.

Google search people.

They probably won't add it, they never said they would, they specifically said they can't.

thats fixable go to config (ROengine)and change this line
SingleVoiceVariation=true
set this to false and you will have 3 voice types

It seems to me that it only replaces one set of voices with another, thus I again end up with only 1 set of voice actors at a time.

If you want realism, why don't you join the army?

Actually I was in the army. That is why I want realism. Do you want me to also scan a copy of my DD214 to prove it?

The tooldevelopment is frozen at the moment.
Not worthy feedback received and small downloadcounts results in: i have no further motivation to go on with this tool.
Maybe later, when the community balances it out and TripWire starts to finish the game:
OR
a good mod appears in the scene!

I can dig wanting them to speak like they actually would, but unless you can understand it, whats the point?

I understand wanting realism (and if you speak Russian or German, please disregard) but if you only speak English and your entire team is shouting Russian while you don't understand a word of it, wouldn't that be less realistic?

For realism's sake, do we assume the troops fighting in Stalingrad are either native Russian or native German as opposed to a guy from Detroit? I imagine they would understand their own language.

Again that argument: Not understanding foreign languages is unrealistic.

There's nothing realistic about hearing Russian soldiers talking English, it sure as hell is EASY if you can understand them, but it is NEVER realistic.

I happen to speak German which I learned at school and some common Russian phrases. So I would definitely want that option.

How is it realistic to not understand what should be your own language?

Don't get me wrong, I'm all about options, and native voices for those who want them should definitely be one. I just don't see how it's realistic if you don't actually speak the language. I guess I could go learn Russian and German...maybe Rosettastone will give me a two for one deal. :p

That is why I'm learning both German and Russian. Realistic or not it still gives the immersion. And it's not like a whole language to learn, there are only limited sentences in the game to understand and it shouldn't be too hard.

Guys, look. If you think that having both teams speak native languages not realistic for you, because you can't understand anything, we do, that is another reason why there should be a switch. That way everyone will be satisfied and happy with the game.

The problem is when updating the game , the english voices return, and you have to download them...

This ^

I could be wrong but could this also be the reason why a 200meg update turns into a 3-4gig for so many of us. Does steam see that we've "hacked" the game and decides to give us half the game to fix it?

But yeah, please give us an option for native in the UI.

Do you just make stuff up?

They were so confident it would be in they were being smartasses about it.

Edit: Bosco beat me, but it's worth pointing out twice.

Hello guys.

I would also like to have a native language option in the menus in order for the game to be more realistic and still havent done the sound files "hack".
Some people mentioned its not practical not being able to understand what your teammates are shouting so i want to suggest to the devs to use SUBTITLES. So, every time a sound is triggered (voice) we get a line of text at the bottom of the screen with the translation in english.

I'm not lazy or an idiot at doing simple tasks as moving files. But why do I want to do all the work when it would be much easier to allow us to turn them on by a click on of a button?
There is a tool for it, if you use it you just have to click a button too.
Whoever did this tool should maybe release a new version that edits the setting for 3 voices in the cfg automatically.
