Will HoS support Track IR?

I think this would be a great addition considering RO's already realistic and immersive tone.

This could also be of great use with the vehicle portion of the game. if HoS had full 6 axis track IR, players could literally move their head forward to get close to tank sites, and move their head back to look out of the port holes in the side.

Here's ArmA2 using Track IR.YouTube - TrackIR5 & ArmA2 Premiere (TrackIR 5)

6 Axis Track IR can also provide effect 3D

Never heard of TrackIR this looks really nice. I would bet that it makes games 200% better and easier to control. If only it wasn't so expensive 200 bucks for the tracker pro clip and the unit holy shiebe. :)

Yeah hopefully this is supported I'll be picking one up for ARMA 2 and this game hopefully! :D

Being able to look around while sprinting down a street would be a great addition. But I just hope RO:HoS will have the equivelant of the Arma alt key, the freelook button. I dont want to have to wear a hat or headset while playing RO :)

TrackIR or its competitors is just an alternative way to controlling freelook, instead of using the alt button + mouse, or joystick hat controller.

So i guess the alt key or something to that effect would be the first step with TrackIR coming as a bonus.

Freelook is great when you are in the prone position and dont want to move your whole body just to look in a different direction.

It's not a device well suited for infantry for my money, but it rocks for aircraft.

I don't suppose it would take much effort to program into the game if people are really wanting to use it.

Save it for flight sims mate, not knowing which direction your gun is pointing while you are running around is massively unhelpful in an FPS.

I think gameplay in RO is too fast paced to justify TrackIR, at least online. It's quite competitive, and timing is important. TrackIR will just tie you up in critical situations.

Plus, ArmA and ArmA 2 can implement TrackIR because your first person view is basically third person camera mounted on the soldiers' head. There are no seperate first person animations, unlike RO and UE3 games. To implement TrackIR the devs will need to tie first person and third person together somehow, which is lots of work for less gain.

I think being able to move just your head instead of your entire body when looking around prone would be a big advantage. You won't be so easy to spot with less movement.

I don't see how this could be cumbersome or slow down the action. If anything it speeds things up being able to snap your head around for better situational awareness. The Alt-key thing means you need to stop any other movement. With TrackIR freelook, it's very natural to move yoru weapon (or aircraft) independantly of where you're directly looking.

I'm just annoyed my original TrackIR doesn't work with Vista64.

Once you go to head tracked free-look, it's tough going back.
