I tracked down Waltz with Bashir in a small cinema when it first came out in Germany. I am still proud of myself for that.

Also Starship Troopers is a great war movie, sure it is Sci-Fi and you can't take it seriously (or too serious) but it is a blast to watch and has a bit of a message too.

My favourite war movie, hell, one of my all time faves, is Enemy At The Gates.

With Jude Law and Rachel Weisz, it is a movie about snipers. And being a Crossbow enthusiast on KF, and a sniper on, other, games, i find it quite the epic. It illustrates, at least a little, what Russian snipers did to take back Stalingrad. It also stars a hero of the Soviet Union, Vassili Zaitsev.

Great movie.

I'm afraid I don't think you'll find many on the RO forums that would go along with this assessment. the film takes quite a few liberties with the actualite. Not least of which is having Jude law playing a guy who would more realistically have been played by Bob Hoskins after having a fire on his face put out with a shovel.

Yeah he's quite the ladies' guy isn't he.

But to be honest, regarding historical accuracy and military and logical plausibility, I always thought EatG was in the same league as SPR (please flame away).

So, all in all, it was a nice visual fest if you switch your brains off. And at least it was eastern front for once.

Oh god... pretty funny movie though, not much else :p

This is another good one, recommended:

I recently watched the Israeli "Lebanon", was really looking forward to it from what I'd read, but was disappointed. It was way over-acted, and although it's an interesting view seeing everything from inside the tank it's not enough for a whole movie.

Are you for real? I didn't think anyone here liked this overdramatized propaganda retelling, much less admits it..

But you are excused because you're here for Killing Floor and not for RO.:p
Haha, just kidding of course. Different folks, different strokes.

I do have to admit I did find EatG theme (sniping that is) quite interesting but to me, the overall representation of the film was just meh.

Hey, Eastern Front with cool effects and lots of explosions = very good. Even though it is fictional and overplayed.
Its a popcorn flick and nothing more, you might as well complain about the realism in GIJoe.

I apologise for the rage i caused.

But i'm not a big WW enthusiast and it's pretty much the only sniper movie apart from Shooter that i've seen. I just like snipers and sniping.

I'm sorry i like sniping.
