Most, yeah.
But not all. Some do listen to quality stuff.
Meh, im not into goth anyways... I respect their style, but its to bad people often compare goth with metalheads.

But they are more true goth music not 14 year old goth girl music :p

With that said i like carnivore more than type o negative. Relevance? Carnivore was the band of the lead man of type o negative before type o negative.

Hmmm...It seems like that this community really has a fine taste of music.:)

My list at the moment. Varies frequently. Not in any kind of order.

It really is a hard task to try to choose 10 albums...

Manic Street Preachers: Holy Bible
Clash: London Calling
Guns

This thread is greatly lacking in pretentious indie-ness.

In no particular order:

The New Pornographers - Electric Version

The Shins - Chutes Too Narrow

Neutral Milk Hotel - In the Aeroplane Over the Sea

Interpol - Turn On the Bright Lights

Elliot Smith - XO

Smog - A River Aint Too Much To Love

Spiritualized - Ladies & Gentlemen We Are Floating In Space

Sufjan Stevens - Come On Feel the Illinoise!

Tiger Tunes - Absolutely Worthless Compared to Important Books (I hate it now, but still deserves a place considering how much I've listened to it)

Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds - Abattoir Blues / The Lyre of Orpheus

Actually i think no genre is the 1337357. There are just less good genres which are more populair. Simple music = $$$.

Oh and sometimes dont forget you can not like a genre but that genre can still be good.

You single-handedly addressed that imbalance in spadefuls, mate :D

I have only heard about 3 of these bands but given the way they seem to be going it may be worth my while listening to some of the others.

Yes, true.

Simple music = $$$.
Not necessarily, sometimes the simplest songs / guitar parts can be very beautiful. Less is more. Examples: the guitar playing of David Gilmour and John Frusciante.

Unless of course by "simple" you mean the shallow pop you hear on the radio (pussycat dolls, timberlake, etc), which is crap, I think we all agree here.

Oh and sometimes dont forget you can not like a genre but that genre can still be good.
Very true. I hate it when metalheads and punkers are like "oooh, I listen to metal, if you listen to anything else you're gay". Idiots.

In the words of Lizard, let's just "pretend genres don't exist".

Oh and melipone; I'm still kicking myself to get Heart And Soul, but most online stores sell it for a ridiculous price and I can't find it anywhere else. But I'll get it for sure.

Did you know Anton Corbijn is working on an Ian Curtis biopic? It'll be out somewhere in October or November, and it looks marvelous.

I think genres exist and they exist so you can get a idea of what it sounds like.

Simple as in shallow ofcourse. Simple parts can be the greatest indeed if done correctly ofcourse but doing that correctly already it isnt simple already but complex. Say complexy simple if that makes sense.

Inspired by Nestor's collage, which is a nice touch, I took the liberty of assembling my list in the same form.
