Led Zeppelin's first album
Pink Floyd - Atom heart mother (but really everything from then to the wall inclusive)
David Bowie - Hunky Dory (but really practically everything up to Scary Monsters..)
The Rolling Stones - let it bleed
The Who - Quadrophenia
The Beatles - Sgt Pepper
The Strawbs - Ghosts
AC/DC - Powerage
Jimi Hendrix - Electric Ladyland
Stevie Wonder - Songs in the key of life

More or less been my favs for last 20 yrs-I've tried to vary the artists as it would be easy to make a list up almost consisting of just Bowie and Floyd

favourite game soundtrack album poss Chris vrenna's 'alice' and fav Film soundtrack Bladerunner- if not one of Morricone's works.

Nice to see BofC's 'Music has the right...' got a mention - but if i went for stuff like that i'd be rooting though quite a few hundred techno/electronica albums.

No particular order of course.

Pearl Jam - Ten
Joy Division - Unknown Pleasures and Closer (all of their work really)
blink-182 - Dude Ranch
Pink Floyd - Dark Side Of The Moon
Led Zeppelin II
The Doors - The Doors
Jimi Hendrix - I usually listen to my fave songs of him, so I can't really choose my fave album but he deserves to be on the list.
Radiohead - The Bends and OK Computer (don't know their other albums but these two are genius)
Editors - The Back Room
Green Day - Dookie

Those are just some of them, many many more bands deserve to be mentioned. Like Tom Waits and Tool (best modern prog) for example. But that's my list for now.

Nice list melipone... nice to see another Joy Division fan, they're so underrated!:)

The Beatles- Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Heart's Club Band
ABBA- The Greatest Hits
Dead Kennedys- Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables
The Beatles- LOVE
Jimi Hendrix- Are You Experienced
Various- Pure Moods
Roy Orbison- Greatest Hits
Rammstein- Sehnsucht (of course they spread all their really good songs over all of their albums)
Queen- Night at the Opera
The Beatles- No. 1

Had to leave out a few other Greatest Hit albums. I admit I was tempted to put Chuck Berry's greatest Hits in there.
