A good commando doesnt need many bullets to be effective. I often have more than half my ammo at the end of a wave, even wave 10. The team has to be really bad for me to nearly run empty.

Check out that vid of a wave 10 on Hell on Earth. I do have a great team though, they do not let Fleshpounds and Scrakes get anywhere close.

I do not play commando very often, so thats one of the few I have with half decent mando' kills.

And for a personal point of view, in regard to overall usefulness AS A TEAM, I place commando ahead of zerker, medic and firebug.
- Firebug : Unless the player is good, which is rare, Firebug can be very annoying by raging/unstunning scrakes and limiting the sharpshooter / commando headshot ability.
- Medic : unless the team is bad a medic is not really necessary as good players often heal each other. But its still very useful to block stray Fleshpounds and scrakes before they do too much damage.
- zerker : I really love zerking, its great to hold on your own or even kite. But I got to admit thats not really fitting the cooperative spirit of the game. Even if the zerk stays near the group and take zeds head on, they most often get in the way of everybody else behind and block incoming shots. Though, I got to say that in some cases zerkers have their use; their damage absorption coupled with a medic make a great wall to block a small entrance xD

Yes, that video certainly had a long shootingrange for a commando!

dude, commando is probably the best class to be if you're getting swarmed by all sides other than brozerker or medic with dual hand cannons.

Still, you can sidestep to get more than 1 zed and then quickly bring out the handcannon.

Xbow will still only get zeds in one line, and despite the fact that it should, won't always kill small zeds like clots with a glancing hit. Also, the HC has 8 shots in the magasine, and isn't worth a damn if you don't headshot (it'll take half of those 8 to put down a clot probably).

Yes, when lined up!

Not, when getting swarmed!

Clots, Gorefasts, Stalkers, Sirens all have head heights at roughly the same height. Just hold M1 and sweep your hand L->R and that kills 80% of the zeds.

What lvl commando are you? I presume you're high enough to have negligible recoil? {grasping at straws to find how you cannot think commandos are good at panic situations}.

Lv 4. Well, maybe i should improve my reflexes then?

I feel i get killed too easy as commando, so i use that perk the least.

But.......perhaps i am not good enough to use commando close quarter? I am perhaps used to simple arcade-shooting?

http://kf-wiki.com/wiki/Commando

When you reach L6, you'll get another -10% recoil and another +10% damage.

These are a lot of help, the reduced recoil (+ extra experience you as a person will have with the class) makes it a lot easier to just sweep your gun sideways on full auto and keep it firing at head height. The extra damage helps with popping heads off as well.

Here is a video of Devante playing as commando solo on Hell on Earth, Biotics lab.

Killing Floor - Bioticlab Commando challenge (Hell on Earth) - YouTube

He gets overtaken by the horde at the end but he takes on way more than 3-5 specimens closing in on him.

And commandos shouldn't be trying to kill scrakes/FPs, and IMHO shouldn't be trying to kill husks/sirens most of the time since they'll probably be paired up with someone who is better suited to killing them.

Nice theory bro, this is modern KF where you have to carry the game yourself or die trying :)

Eh, anything under a siren has the same head health no matter how many people are playing, and sirens and husks only go up from 350->437 on HoE between 1->6 players.

Also, I do the HSG+nades trick on FPs with support, but never thought of doing the same with other weapons. I may have to steal that tactic...

OK with not being able to kill SC or FP.

But siren and husks, they do have frustrating hitboxes, should be killed with not too much effort by the commando. It must be so! It should be so! A commando can

Not only does every trash zed - the commando's primary targets, have the same health on HoE regardless of the player count, you are playing HoE as a level 4. Get your commando to it's highest damage output level before arguing for a buff in commando damage.

Yes, let

even at level 4, a single head shot from the AK or scar decaps and kills clots and crawlers, 1 HS + 1 or 2 body shots from the scar takes out gorefasts, and if you're in range, sirens and husk heads will disintegrate before your eyes. Commando is a formidable force against trash mobs, you just need to learn the class a little better.
