It is illegal in Germany to show Nazi symbols and art glorifying Hitler and the exhibit was cordoned off to stop visitors posing with him.
LOL, people want to pose with him

but by threating their history this way they are gonna end up turning him into a martyr and create sympathy for the guy. just accept what happened and deal with it.

Yeah, you should repress your history. What's the big deal, all current generation Germans have nothing to do with 60 years ago.

They have a waxx model of him in Madame Tussaud in London. So, it's ok in London but in Germany it's omgwtfbbq? :)

Correctamundo

lol, so do 3/4th of the wax models in there, in russia they freekin have lenin's dead body on display

Hitler destroyed Germany and her reputation for generations to come. Lenin didnt even do half that!

I dont agree with whole Lenin thing though. Find it very macabre..

now having a wax model must mean that you were a great man?

because Jack the Ripper has one too, and I fail to see how he was a great man, and there are no politics behind this one

good or evil doesn't matter, historic importance or fame is what makes one deserve to have one model

well the french have several napoleon statues in paris, i suppose in 200 years there will be hitler statues in berlin, and people wearing T-shirts with his face on it just like those idiots today wearing che-guevara T-shirts, who have no idea what horrible things he did.

seems like there are categories in mass-murderers, those who only killed a few hundreds can be used on T-shirts, those who only killed 100's of thousands can have their face on flags and whiskey bottles, and those who killed millions are herous(unless they lost the war)
all i mean is that you can't quantify mass murder, killing hundreds or millions is just as horrible. why did hitler deserve this this special threatment?

you are the prime example why the world hates america.

this is exactly why that guy (hopefully) ripped his head off: to prevent people from trivialising hitler. which you just did by comparing him to che guevara or napoleon.

infact, there should be statues all over europe for his "code civil"

No one even knows who Jack the Ripper was mate lolz

You cant put the embodiment of anti-semitism and war-mongery on display in Berlin of all places ffs

It takes ignorance and insensitivity to a whole new height!

he is stil a symbol and has his model, and I don't think that a murderer who enjoy butchering his victims is any better example than anti-semitism or war-mongery

people must get over it, Hitler existed and possible caused more disaster and tragedy than anyone else in the world, those are facts that will never be erased no matter how much they try to forget them

Hitler and what he did must be remembered to prevent the story from happening again

Come on gents. Who's had their silly juice today?

There's nothing at all wrong with a waxwork of Hitler in Germany, just like there isn't a problem with one being anywhere else in the world.

The Tussauds in London has one of Saddam Hussain, and even Robert Mugabe. Do these men "deserve" a waxwork?
They aren't their to glorify anything, or rubbing anything in anyones face. To suggest otherwise is folly.

Hate figure or not Hilter was a defining character in the 21st century, pretending he didn't exist changes nothing. Just like a waxwork doesn't.

Ok so lets see if I get this right. They are trying to portray the history of Germany and the guy who pops into all our heads first up is Hitler. So why the hell can't he be in a exhibition. Don't go down Japans path and blotch it out from history ffs. Quit jumping at your own shadow.
