OK, so I patch up when I get home.

I get on various servers to try it out.

I did NOT get a million crashes on Punkbuster servers.

But I DID crash. Can't say if they were PB servers or not as I played both.

Twice I did not just crash the game, my PC basically restarted, without restarting. Screen went to black, monitor went to power saving mode, PC just sat there with fan whirring until I had to restart it manually.

I would also crash to desktop, usually as an enemy was running at me. I could come back by clicking on the game icon on the task bar, but I would be dead by that time and waiting to respawn.

A new bug for me is my sound would go out. Twice it went out, always at the start of a new map. I would exit game completely and come back in to fix that.

And to boot, I got my first hip shot kill, with a bolt action rifle no less.

Too bad it was a friendly.

I was in the Grain Elevator, friendly died at a door up stairs, I ran past the door sideways and fired from the hip, killed a friendly.

Not only did he ignore my apology, saying enemy fire just came from that area, he waited in spawn until I died and respawned and then he gunned me down in cold blood.

So in addition to some glitches, crashes and drops to desktop, I got my first points of dishonor. Sigh.

Your first points of dishonor? Really? You've never had a moron run in front of you while you fired, or storm a room after you've thrown a grenade into it? Please, clean your horseshoe thoroughly and let me use it for awhile?

That problem you described with your monitor going to power saving mode sounds like your GPU is pulling too much power--is your PSU powerful enough to handle the power draw on intensive graphics?

Yeah I have also been crashing a lot this afternoon. Though I tried playing on a none Punkbuster server an it worked fine for about 4 maps until I quit. So I dunno if its related to PB or not.

Also I got two hip fire bolt action kills on my first game I played. In hindsight I could have just used the bayonet but they were running right at me and I just freaked out an shot on instinct. lol

Same thing has been happening to me for a few days, always on the start of a map, it even killed my audio from Skype and I also had to close RO2 and re-open it to get my audio back. This also happened to my friend at the exact time

It isn't too bad. Vista 32bit, 4 Gigs of memor and a 2.66 processor and I have a GeForce 8800 GTX that runs RO1 and Lord of the Rings Online on ultra high graphics.

But I have been playing ROII on Medium graphics since I was trying to work out the game crashes.

I had been playing for hours the previous three days without this kind of PC crash. Just game closing on me type crashes and the day after launch I played for almost 12 hours.

I updated my video driver today and will see if that helps.

And as for my hip TK - he was way down the hall way, not anything like stabbing range. Just a bad luck friendly fire shot.

I have gotten TKs from blind nades. But always forgiven. This was the first time I ended a match with Red Points. Because he did not NP me.
