Time traveler in the premiere of a charlie chaplin film

It's irrelevant if they could change anything if they went to the past. There is no consensus on that. Not in fiction and not in science. They would be here though. As an integral part of the present since it's all set-in-stone (good bye free will) or dynamically from the future (either being able to change things: Hello paradoxes! Or in parallel states). Doesn't matter. What matters is that they'd be here. But they're not.
Thus there is no time travel. Not now, not ever.

You're assuming three things:

1.) That if time travelers from the future do exist, they reveal themselves when they get here

2.) That they have traveled to 2010 or an earlier date (they could have traveled to 2731 and we would never know in our lifetime)

3.) That there is only one world line

That's based on the assumption that we would KNOW they were here. Honestly they'd have history books, and at this point in history lots of pictures and videos, so they would know exactly how to dress and look.

Suppose Time travel is one of those highly regulated things in the future because you can change the course of history, it then wouldn't be something that gets done often if at all...

( not that I believe in time travel, just had to play devils advocate on that..)
