I'm having a helluva lot of trouble trying to find tickets to David Gilmour. Not many are selling on eBay. I need some assistance please!

How about listening to music from this century!

I went to see some guys from the Clash play with the Specials once. Man, that was depressing enough.

Mainstream modern music, yeah. That doesn't mean that people aren't still making good music. You just have to look for it. ;)

I personally listen to modern music and old music, because, well... I like music which is good, and as it happens, most music was made before now, so I find that most of the good music I do find is not that new, but then of course there is some which is.

Before you complain about the above sentence, bear in mind that it is less confusing than my music collection.

Music today sucks balls bigger than words can describe.
That's a very ignorant mindset, there are a lot of "newer" bands out there that are very very good - check out the following bands:

Pearl Jam (awesome, awesome, awesome band)
Audioslave
Rage Against The Machine
Guns 'N Roses
Muse
Radiohead
Red Hot Chili Peppers
etc, etc

Now of course, just because I like these doesn't mean you will like them. But search and you will find, I promise ;) .

Limiting your taste in music to only one genre / band / timeframe is a terrible idea, and I'm sure you'll find out about that as you grow out of your teens (don't know how old you are though). I used to listen to punk and punk only, and look at all of the great music I'd miss out on if I kept on listening to the same genre forever. Keep an open mind and you'll discover great music :)

It's not ignorant. It's an opinion. Today's music doesn't even compare to the music of the 60's and 70's. Guns 'N Roses isn't modern. Muse is decent at best, Radiohead is pretty good, Rage is boring to me. I can't stand Red Hot Chili Peppers. I've tried to expand my mindset, I've tried to listen to modern stuff, but it just gets old very fast. I like it for like a month or so, then I grow tired of it and don't like listening to it anymore. Music today just isn't creative anymore.
