I'm sorry if this suggestion has been posted before.

I remember many years ago (and less grey hair) I used to play DoD and they had an awesome grenade mechanism, that you could pick up and throw the enemey grenade back. It was such an awesome feature :)

Also when you shouted "grenade, take cover" they would do an animation throwing their arms in the air while shouting it. lol good times.

It would be fun, but I'm not sure there would be enough time to do it well, and you'd probably end up going into cover :p

And thats why we play video-games instead of being in the war... so don't worry, picking up virtual grenade wont hurt you ^^

The pineapples are often not cooked and i would totally try and toss it back.

It would also make for great team points if they could work out that when you pick up a nade and let it go off in your hand it only kills you(you "jumped" on it to save your buddies).
+honor points for every each person that would have died from it.

I like the sound of this, especially if one could dive onto grenades to reduce the explosion (I believe this was in Darkest Hour?)

i saw this in DoD 1st.
If you picked up the nade and FF as off you alone died and saved your team mates(no points for it but it still helped the team).

If however FF was on, you probably got auto-kicked for team killing.

I think this has been brought up too many times. The F1 grenade had a fuze of about 3,5-4 seconds. The grenade is airborne for a while, then you pick it up (You wouldn't really be able to pick up a grenade as fast as in DoD, in which it it instantaneous (also in DoD the picking up served a purpose... You could not cook the grenades, so you had to throw them on the ground and throw them again)), the next thing you know isn't that you see a grenade you have thrown, but the sight of your mangled hand that is probably without a couple of bones and such.

I'd prefer the option to dive onto a live grenade to prevent shrapnel from killing my teammates. Obviously, +2 honor points would be awarded.

Whether or not it's realistic to pick a grenade up doesn't concern me, why not let people try? People certainly DID try at somepoint I'm sure.

fuses weren't accurate like someone said it's not like they're going to program in a fuse that's randomly between 3 and 7 seconds based on the temperature of the map and how well prepared the grenade is, people need consistency in games to enjoy them. I don't see why we can't try and pick em up, even if the window is so small it'll likely get you killed.

I like how the excuse is that the "fuse is random IRL"

...but it's not in the game

I've had uncooked f1s land on me while deployed with my mg34, I could have easily thrown it back consider I had time to undeploy, stand up, and run all the way into the next room and wait for the explosion.

Sounds good on paper, is pretty useless in practice.

I mean who *doesn't* cook grenades? The only time I don't is if I have to get it off real fast so I can pull my rifle back out (i.e. if someone is aiming at me).

Not everyone cook their grenades. Also it was pretty common to try to throw back grenades. It was risky bussiness but your odds were a lot better than running out from that door where the grenade came from since there were most likely someone pointing a gun at that door outside.
When you really get down to it, 5 seconds is hell of a long time in intense CQB and throwing back a grenade should be one option amongs take cover behind anything (if there is anything at all in the room you are at) or rush out from the door and try to stab the guy who just threw the grenade at you.

chances are though if you have time to get to it and throw back, you could have just as easily moved away.
