Everything does look sped up from ostfront like the movement and other mechanics, but that might not be a bad thing. It didn't really look good on video that he was dying so many times, it might scare some people away from buying it. It certainly shows the AI isn't a push over, which is a good thing.I thought perhaps the animations could be better. Overall though, I'm very impressed with what I've seen in these video and can't wait to buy it. We've been all starving for a realistic tactical shooter, and HOS will satisfy our tastes.

the map in soviet video was really great, moody and detailed

the one thing i hate is shining hands from the overused bloom in german video..

Looks good, love the music and the gunsound and i'll have to agree on some hud changes at least the interaction icon.

Amazing, I can't wait.

I agree that some of the animations seem a bit sped up compared to RO and the Ragdoll seems a bit stiff still. But boy its gonna be great!!

Watched all the videos atleast 3 times each. The weapons,physics,graphics and just everything looks fantastic !

To respond to the one about getting hit and the text telling you, in RO:OST, you had your little mini character on the bottom right, it'd turn red where ever you got hit, I think it should be that way and not tell you the text and how long you have to bandage it before you faint.

But maybe thats just a bunch of dev stuff active and all, I'm sure all the text and everything will be cleaned and tidy'd up before release, right?

Oh wait, I thought that's what you meant? My bad :eek:. What exactly were you talking about then? I must have missed it in the video.

For people that are confused about the English...
The PLAN is to have the side you are playing talk in your native language (i.e. English for me), while the enemy talks in THEIR native tongue - so in Russian if I am playing as German. If all goes to PLAN, you'll be able to play with just the actual side's language if you prefer, for more "authenticity". Although you can debate "authentic" when I have to listen to my squad-members yabbering in a language I don't speak!

NB: note the emphasis on the word PLAN. Some plans have to be discarded!

I was about to type the same thing but I realized he was probably talking about the "you have x amount of time before you bleed out". It would be better if it was more vague and said "you're bleeding heavily" or "lightly bleeding". The soldier wouldn't know how long he had left unless it was really bad.

A good question to ask is if any of these videos show "full realism" settings or more casual? I'm going with casual as it's showing off for a press event. Anyone know the answer?

I think it's looking pretty good so far. A couple of small things which can be fixed like the shadow through the wall, but I was really happy to see how the PPSH seems more controlable than in ost front, and the cover system looks great. From the looks of the video I won't be hunting an MP40 every time I'm Russian and want to use an SMG.

I think the messages should be more personal, like "I need to heal my leg, arm, foot or whatever" and even "this isn't good, I'm dying".

Yeah, something along those lines would be more interesting and more realistic. Like an internal thought going on.

I hope we soon get some real videos, with true in game graphics and sounds. Because the camera footage is not really helping.

I LOVED the main menu and the menus in general, and while I also liked the map briefing, I hoped for some real life footage to explain the setting before the briefing, I didn't hate the intro though, but not a big fan of it either.

And well I felt sorry for Ramm there, is not easy to play and expose your game to the press at the same time. Could have added easier bots, but then people would say that the AI looks stupid. Could have used God mode, but then you wouldn't be able to show the soul switching mechanic. But then, you could have had DrGuppy playing there instead and comment on what he does. :p

Edit: i can't help myself but the first person vision look cheap ^^


What i noticed:

-Shadow through buildings ( you cann see the shadows from guys behind walls)
-things simply show up

The first person looked amazing. Very realistic.

I want to say I found nothing to object to in any of these vids. They were exactly what I want and exactly what I was hoping for.

Just watched the videos and when the players get hit, in first video it says (2:08) that "you are bleeding from LUPPERARM slowly, press B to bandage, 1 remaining". So I think this informs nicely how serious the wound is and how many bandages are left.
