3D & Animation Thread of modeling and stuff.

I was really bored in College today so I made a Kabar:

has plenty of problems, grip isn't done, gaps aren't equal sizes, smoothing errors and it's ****

may do a propper one some day... we'll see

I'm in the middle of going through my bloated / archived models back from when I was working on KF-themed weapons (G36e, G3, Vector specifically). I'll be posting renders soon, but in the mean time does anyone know what a good number for polys is for Killing Floor? I'm in the middle of trimming the excess from some of them and just want to know what a good theoretical range is.

good amount I'd say is anywhere between 1-6K Tris, if any are around 7-8 or more, just remove edge loops.

Try this.

Honestly you really don't need a nice reader for wireframes, just set the material to default grey and press f4, then print screen.

Kinda like this, I used blue since I have that has my modeling material. The reason why I use blue for my modeling material, is because I have it set so when I press the keyframes button the material becomes translucent making it easier for me to model off reference images.

Oh My God, that SKS is pure beauty!
My jaw dropped at all your work but especialy on the SKS.
Very well done models and materials man.

Thanks!

I finished it up awhile ago, looks much better then before, along with the M1911, once we do a media release, I'll post some of the finished work here.

Also, here's some wireframe shots of some of my other models, if anyone is interested.
