Being an ex soldier I can honestly say you do not fire an LMG in this manner, it is not used this way, it is not deployed this way, and basically unless your built like Arnie or the Rock, you ain't carrying it around and firing it like this.
This is meant to be representative of an MG32, which I believe most people are claiming weighs around 30 lbs, i heavy weight to be swinging back and forth, but also you have to remember the weight of the ammunition, most people don't realise just how heavy it is, 250 rounds of 7.92 ammo would weigh over 20 lbs, that's a total weight of over 50 lbs, you don't sling that sort of weight just back and forth, you don't sprint around with it, stop and start firing.
When you carry the LMG, yo always have a support soldier with you, and that poor sod carries your extra ammo, and it is a ***** of a job. because it is so bloody heavy, not to mention it is very long which also affects its inertia, and the 7.92 round does have tremendous kick, all high velocity rounds do.
The LMG is used in the battlefield as a suppressive weapon, it is effective to 1000 yards (note the word effective, not accurate) it is designed to put masses of bullets into an area to pin down an enemy position while your assault troops move in closer, or to halt the advance on enemy troops. It is not an assault weapon.
I think far too many people here have been watching movies like rambo and thinking that is something like real life, it is not. Battles in Hollywood movies, even good ones like saving private Ryan are nothing like the reality of a real battle.
And whilst it is possible to fire an LMG from the hip, you would only try it in extreme emergencies, and it would be to pepper a direction to halt an attack when all else had failed and you were running for your life or had been over run. the LMG is used as a DEPLOYED weapon, nor as an assault rifle
