Guys (or girls), if someone is willing to help us track down this issue can you please do the following:

1) Figure out what your SteamID is (if you don't know how to get this, check on google, there are several ways to get it)

2) Immediately after you get the "Version is Incompatible" error, pm me your SteamID, and the time that you got the error (please let me know what time zone you're in). You can PM me here on the RO forums, or PM me in the #redorchestra channel on irc.gamesurge.net.

This information will be extremely helpful in tracking down the problem.

ok that sounds doable , one weird thing though I went to give it a try today after I got home from work , and it seems vac has been turned off aLL the servs ? maybe they are doing something with it or something ? I dont think im filtering them , I havent touched anything ,I do notice a few servs have the vac indication still but those are the rare ones I was able to connect to anyway, So I dunno why vac is suddenly turned off on all RO servs , but I'll have to wait till its back on to recreate the incompat msg...

Well I wouldnt call it a fix , it just looks like for now anyway , that the VAC has been turned off all RO servers , They could be doing some testing or maintenance & it could just as easily be turned back on again & then we experiance the same thing all over again ,...so yes we can connect to servers now , but not having some form of vac running is a less than ideal solution ,hopefully we can track down the cause of this & get things back to normal,...

Yep , Vac has now been turned back on on all Ro servers & the incompat msg continues,....


but guys like RAMM said look up how to get your Steam ID # on google
once you have that you can report to him the time you got the error , this will help figure it out,...

So I've been gone for 4 days, and we just get a response today, with no solution in sight. Incredible.

i tried the log out log in method and it was able to let me join servers..... BUT as soon as the map had loaded the screen would freeze while in game, and then it would kick me to my desktop... i then get this error message

I have this issue aswell, and i hope for a fix soon.

I would also like to say that a few of you need to calm down and stop being such whiny bitches. It annoys me to see such immateure behaviour from fellow gamers. This only applies to the more extreme replies (Big orange letters, etc), not everyone who complains.

strange thing, the tool steamid doesnt show me a id ?
i searched the registry and there i found the key valve with steam and user -> so i guess this number is my steam-id then (compared with our server log -> seems to be the steamid)

btw. i thought perhaps the thing with disabled vac yesterday would bring a solution, but after turning vac on again -> same error.

I noticed something when I am connecting to my server and I get this error on my server. I just wondering if it is just me.

What is happen is when I get this error I update the server useing the hldsupdatetool with -verify_all and it redownloads the map that is was playing on. I wonder if this is the case with any one Else running a server. Any one notice. IF you try it you see hldsupdatetool redownload the map.
