Jesus I laugh at how insecure you guys can be over a computer game, taking ever opportunity to bash CoD and BF3 and then call anyone who doesn't play the game, the way you feel it should be played, as a 'kiddie'.

If you wanna shovel ****, then shovel it at Tripwire for allowing such behavior possible within their game, or maybe, just get better at the game so that those point blank shot misses are not all blamed on the hitbox or w/e.

For some of you vets who've been around, you'll know if you played Ostfront enough you could easily john rambo on any map, its not real life, its a game. Get over yourselves.

OP I would love to take you on that 1000$ deal... sadly I don't think it's a real claim and I lack the time to videotape myself doing an embarrassing video and post it on youtube.

People just need to relax and enjoy the game.

I have not seen anyone do it yet... I spring and bayo sometimes, but half the time I get killed by someone who saw it coming.

Hit detection isn't that bad unless you are in an overloaded server... then I agree, it's horrible.

RO2 isn't RO1 and like the first one, doesn't look like it's for everyone.
However, I am pretty sure it will catch on and become far more popular then the original...

And who knows, perhaps in a month or 2, when performance is great... there will be some realism tweaks.

Pretty hilarious that RO2 is the only game to reopen the beta post retail launch. The game was built to pander to the "shooter" community. Maybe bigger maps might reveal a better game, but right now it's ****ty.

Ok, you obviously know nothing about the industry. This happens all the time. And guess what, Killing Floor had a beta a year and a half after launch.

RO2 is Tripwire's baby, they aren't gonna just abandon it.

They've already said certain historical things will be worked on after the game gets its necessary fixes.

Gotta agree zig-zagging is geting ridiculous. Saw a German on grain elevator actually running in tight circles going into main building, managing to avoid all fire from 2 LMG's and an SMG, and still pull of a 1 shot rifle kill after less than 3 secs in cover, hmmmm....

Reminds me of how any time a game launches a major patch that adds new content - even if the game had 100 percent of what was promised on launch - there is always at least a few idiots who will make angry threads on the games forums stating: "omg this just proves how much the game sucks, guess it was unfinished and I've been beta testing all last year."

Not many major games.

And lol @ killing floor used as an example. Using another TW game doesnt support your argument.

TF2 and CSS

There is nothing wrong with re-opening a beta if it means you can have more people play testing your patches or new content. It's actually a pretty damn good idea if you intend to use the data you gather.

How do you think game companies test patches? They use betas. Virtually all of them. How "open" those betas are varies widely from company to company but it's the same basic thing. Smaller companies tend to do open betas more frequently because they are small companies and don't have a ton of employees to spend time testing the game. Thus they need more players, hence a more open beta. This isn't rocket science.

I use the bayonet far more than the average player, so I know its power very well, however in most situations a SMG is the better weapon. Based on kills bayonets may seem powerful, but most of the time you just stab people in the back.

Hit detection problems get you killed when facing people with other weapons as well, but those times aren't quite as memorable, so people have a tendency to forget those.

Bayonet combat may look a fair deal unrealistic, however realistic melee combat just isn't doable, and they are only a bit more effective than they are in reality.

What are you talking about?
RO2 has lost close to 7000 players since release, those kiddies allready did leave and what is left is just a broken game.

DH!

I have BF3 preordered and played thousands of hours of BF2, and yet I'm willing to bet I play this game more realistically and adult-like than most of you so-called elite, which you like to think yourselves as.

I use a rifle to get my kills. I attack and defend objectives. I don't run around like a headless chicken, I play as if I were really in the battle and wanted to preserve my life and destroy the enemy.

What are the majority of other players doing? Well, 2 per team are sat somewhere with a sniper rifle contributing approximately nothing to the team effort, 90% of the rest of the people are running around with SMG's, MG's or semi-auto rifles, terrified of using a bolt action rifle incase they might actually have to use some skill to play, no, they prefer to spray bullets in your general direction and hope they hit. Aiming is too much like hard work for them.

Honestly, this game isn't anywhere near as realistic as you elitist pricks make it out to be. It's a bug ridden pile of crap which could be turned in to something great, but probably won't be, and it has way too many unrealistic weapons which barely were prototypes at the battle of Stalingrad and mostly never even saw action until after the battle, and too many people are allowed to use them in rounds.

It's CoD with stiffer controlls and better graphics, stop kidding yourself.

I have 45 hours in the game and have not had any real problems with bayonet users. OP can you please post some in game footage of this zig-zagging in the game, or anyone for that matter. The way your describing it makes it sound like someone is having a seizure left and right at a speed way faster than what should be expected.

I need to see this, and such it's supposedly such a big issue that always happens to you it should only take a few minutes to get some footage up. Am I missing some weird glitch type thing here?

Once again, can someone post some video please?

Don't blame the players if they use some lame mechanic that was put in the game by the devs.

Currently this is more of an arcade shooter than a tactical simulator.

Dont blame the players if they want to play it like it is.

If you want players to be tactical and not running and gunning, design the game so they HAVE to do that.

lol at people complaining they are having a beta patch after retail.

Every game company does it, most have a closed group of people do it though.

Some have it open like TWI is doing, like Blizzard does, Square-Enix does, and so forth.

Having played several DICE games at launch, you are in for a surprise when that **** drops if you think its going to play decently, there will be several bugs, and people will complain about the same stuff then.

TWI is throwing patches out faster than DICE will. BFBC2 still has serious bugs for users that have yet to be fixed, and won't ever be.

I get pretty annoyed with the melee sometimes, though I know it's somewhat necessary to resolve those close-quarter moments where you and the other player just can't kill each other shooting, primarily with bolt-actions.

But on the other hand it does get pretty ridiculous sometimes. During a game on Pavlov's House, I ran into a room of four Russians, all facing the entrance. Every one of them opened fire on me, but without breaking a sprint I was somehow able to casually bayonet all four with the K98. It also becomes apparent that many players simply rely on the bayonet without even shouldering the rifle to attempt a shot, resorting to sprinting and unfortunately even "halo-hopping" to achieve this.

What I can't get past is how utterly stupid the sequence looks. You frantically cycle the bolt, firing at someone running towards you. The enemy runs up, sprint uninterrupted, casually and nonchalantly sticks you in the gut with the bayonet, and runs away undeterred as if the whole thing didn't happen as you fall to the ground.

Then again, I'm not sure that much can be done about it. I suppose it is necessary to eliminate those ten-minute close quarter struggles.

Yes, because people aren't shoveling enough sh!t at Tripwire for making a game that's not exactly what they wanted

Nothing wrong with attempting to take objectives with a SMG, if i am up close and personsell in a objective zone, i.e close quarter battles, i want a SMG not a one pop rifle. Hey how much realsim is that for you.

Its a game, a thing of fun, 99% of you would piss there pants and freeze like a rabbit if you had to do anything in this game.

Relax play the game enjoy it for what it is and enjoy the ride where tripwire will take it.

Fixed that for you, OP!

That's why games like CoD are made mate, for members of the un-aspirational herd like you. The 'dumb it down' generation who need it made cretin-easy because anything requiring more than what it takes to bash a console paddle produces tears.
