The point is it needs to disappear for EVERYONE, I cant believe the old RO crowd havent went mad over this yet.
Simply put..... I LIKE it!

i'm saying that just as the developers said viewing things with my own eye would result in that 70 meters being much easier to see across, but through a monitor is looks much longer when it shouldn't. And that the zoom is a practical way of accomodating that fact.
Are you joking? If not, have you ever heard of the term "tunnel vision"? If not, do you understand what it means to focus on something? If not, next time you are watching tv, tell me how aware your peripherals are and how focused you are on the tv.
This is replicated. ArmA's done it and it's a fine feature. Nowhere near 'sniper'. Get over yourself.
So you're happy with everyone having a sniper rifle by default?
The zoom should be 1/4 of what it is at MOST.
I agree with the op, this was a moronic idea.
Unless this is Deus Ex and you have eye augmentations you should not have a f***ing 4x zoom acog in your eye.
I know its an option, but why would i want to turn it off? it will just put me at a disadvantage. Same with the manual bolting; i like it but why cripple yourself?
Wait, are you people saying that there is another zoom? Besides the normal ironsight closeup?
Offtopic:There were/are some console games with bullet drop.In RO, character models were really small over a distance, so you were looking for moving pixels when searching for enemies far away. I am new to the game, and liked the fact that you had to do this. I am at work, salivating over these forums. The beta activated just as I walked in the door. So...should I be really worried about this "zoom" thing? I understand that this is going to be an OPTION in the real game, so I am not that nervous, but will it make this beta unenjoyable? (I doubt it...RO amazed me with the amount of physics and realism, I came from console shooters and always assumed that bullet drop was not possible, and that was why it didn't exist in console games.)
I knew somebody would complain about this. The "Zoom" you speak of is the game's way of simulating the human eye focusing on a target (since that's otherwise impossible to do in a video game).
