I've thought of names, now someone please get working on a Stalker themed mod for RO2 .

There'd be a lot of missing aspects to it as on online fps, but the setting and arsenal combined with RO2's mechanics would be awesome. Im imagining a map based on the cordon around the railbridge, stalkers with military fighting bandits/monolith for control. Or one based round the push for the NPP, fighting through the streets of pripyat, which would be amazing in countdown mode, especially if it were possible to have more than two teams fighting (e.g. one squad stalkers, one duty, one freedom, one monolith, countdown meets squad deathmatch, any surviving squad members get rewarded with a better weapon) Perhaps one set in the clear sky swamp area, a small spetznatz squad with BRDM' and UAZ' flushing out a larger defending bandit force, spetz able to call in helicopter/artillery strikes and havhing 1/2 respawns, the bandits having none. All of which could be linked with the campaign mode.

Im just snowballing ideas but there are many possibilities that could be done with the gritty theme and setting. It'd allow for interesting asymetric scenarios and tactics, there could be weapon randomization, resource considerations and placeable objects (sandbags, mounted machine guns, makeshift cover etc) combined with the fact that there will be a lot of Russian themed architecture readily available in RO2' SDK. It'd also allow for some interesting vehicles, e.g. technicals with mounted DSHKM' on the back, BRDM' etc.

One idea for a gamemode: Mutant hunt

Natural selction-esque, Played in countdown: The attackers are a faction (Stalkers/Duty/Freedom etc, map dependant) And the defenders (could be interesting the other way round too) are mutants (mostly bloodsuckers, maybe others.) Im imagining this being specifically tailored to tight close quarter maps like the grain silo in the RO2 video's, but with Stalkers theme and setting, which leaves a lot of possibilities as claustrophobic gloom is a hallmark of the stalker series.

I imagine a gamemode like this could be fairly fun and intense, especially with some of these maps set at night/early morning, Stalkers having to use headlamps/NVG, mutants possibly having a special or generally amplified vision mode and bloodsuckers having a cloak ability.

Depending on how capable the AI is, there could even be a defense gamemode where a team has to hold off waves of attacking AI mutants, which would be good in both open and close quarter settings. This could be done in many ways, the team could be small and only have one life each, or they could be pushed back to a location behind when/if all killed (or spawn behind having the chance to fight their way back to their team-mates) the losing condition being pushed off the map and mutants overunning the last point. Players could mix with the AI, playing as special or normal mutants.

Just a couple of ideas for a stalker themed mod.

I love stalker, and I love this idea!
Especially considering how the stalker multiplayer leaves a bit to be desired. If anybody who reads this thread and is capable of making such an ambitious project then I would be behind it 100%

I would back this 100%. Heck I am a mapper and once RO2 comes out I will learn the SDK and map for whoever starts this. I truly hope that this gets off the ground. If this does come to a head they better make Agroprom or at-least the Garbage.

Stalker assets look suprisingly good in UDK.

And in the cryengine, though by the looks of it not everythings a straight rip and some is custom made.

From what I gather, the trouble with UDK would be dynamic weather which'd be a pain if it was the single player trying to be recreated. Would be less of an issue with a soley multiplayer mod.

You just have to love the guys that demand a mod being made whilst neither having no incentive on actually working on it nor any talent to do so.

oh you

*Grr...Boo...Hiss*

whilst neither having no incentive

So WE DO have incentive!!

-(Cue Montage sequence of learning all relevant modding skills to make such a mod culminating in running to peak of mountain, then jumping into the air whilst shouting 'YEEAAH!' with hand reached out skyward, crushing a lemon)-

Twas just a suggestion, not a demand, intended to spark discussion like the other mod suggestion threads (The authors of which I doubt would be displeased if someone happened to pick up their mod idea, yet I see none of your venom in them) I considered taking that first line out as I thought it may irk some people, but thought I was just being paranoid and thought better. Seems I should've now.

Sorry for being enthused about RO2 and its modding potential.
