I noticed this in the latest trailer from last night, does anyone else think the ZF41 looks more like it would be a handicap rather than a practical accessory?

The blind spot around the tiny FOV of the scope is quite large. I would guess you're better off using iron sights and moving your face closer to the monitor :p

i think it will be fine since bullets still do the same damage and accuracy will be the same (just better abiltiy to aim. but at close range not as good.). so that being said i still think that they unlocks will be fine it will add to the game and they did use this stuff in real life. in a good number there are actually quite a few different sights to pick from the aperture site was used during ww1 and 2 and was the predocessor to the sniper scope was preferred over the sniper scope for marksmen for quite awhile.

I might be wrong, but I thought the ZF was an aim point rather than a sniper scope?

The ZF41 seems more like a marksman scope, rather than a "sniper" scope. I doubt it was really meant to be used at long distances because the magnification is only 1.5 power, so it actually looks fine to me.

It's intended to give you a better view of your target at a distance than ironsights do, by showing you a full circle with crosshairs, not meant to be used for long range sniping.

I could be wrong, but I think it's more of a back in the day version of our modern low mag Acog's or Eotechs. Just with a really ****ty FOV.

Yea, I noticed in other trailers that open sight guns have a slight zoom toggle, I have a feeling that the added benefit of 1.5x zoom through that tiny eye piece will be negated by the chance that you'll miss a lot of peripheral view movement that is being obstructed by that enormous chunk of mounting hardware :(

An aimpoint is where you are aiming and hoping for your bullets to hit (point of impact - POI). These terms are used when zeroing in your weapon.

Otherwise Aimpoint is a Swedish company which makes various red dot sights.

So no, this is not an aimpoint. It is a scope. :p A poor scope, but it is a scope.

I thought it is quite popular these days and guns as the L85A1 (SA80) and FN AUG use a similar scope. Couldn't find an image looking through it though, so I am not sure.

I think it's quite handy since you have a pretty nice peripheral view compared to a scope and don't have to pixel hunt that much as without the thing.

I can see it being quite useful on larger maps,

its not like you leave your gun stationary while you pixel hunt so the obstructed sides dont get that much in the way, anyway I tend to "drop" my rifle down a few degrees from where I am scanning so that there is nothing block the view... then pull up the rifle with the added 1.5x and it could be quite useful
