Netherlands wasn't on the lvl they are used to. But I hope they will grow. Japan played better than expected. But I've said that a lot lately I think lol.
Well the Aussies played a lot better, begs the question why the **** didn't we play like that against Germany?
The red card struck me as overly harsh, the handball did not look intentional in the slightest, I could see giving the penalty but not a red. Even a man down we had our chances though, should have taken them.

If you give a penalty in this situation it is a red card. Period. And regarding the US getting robbed.. guys, you didn't win because you got 2 in the first half, not because the ref was an idiot (well, he was, but you get the point).
Refs suck, that is a tradition at the WC because they want diversity and that does not necessarily mean quality. To be honest, I kinda expect a ref from Mali to **** up, he simply does not have the experience. A ref from Spain though..... j/k.

I watched some of the game over again today (recorded it) and now I'm just more pissed off. Fair enough the hand ball can and was given as a red, but what about that challenge on Bresciano? It was studs out straight into the the back of his legs with no hope of contacting the ball, a straight red in any competition in the world, but he didn't even get a yellow. Yet Cahill got a straight red for a much lesser tackle against Germany.

Yes. This ruins the football all too often. I would say it's the rule of this game to try and fake it as much as possible. over 50% of these "injuries" are so overreacted that it just pisses me off. Guy touches on the shoulder and almost everytime the guy falls down and holds his head, like his head got hit and hes a weak like little girl crying on the ground. Or gets "hit" on the leg and wheeps on the ground for 2 mins just to stand up with no sight of injury or that anything actually happened.
If I was in charge I would place in a rule that games would be recorded and viewed right after the injury and see if it was fake or not. If the guy fakes it then it's a yellow card right away, then you would see how many would actually keep doing it. Or punishing players after the game when rewatched or something. Zero policy on bs players and man up the game a little, would be much better imo.

Well. Tonights game was pretty ****, far too much silly diving & making a meal of it - and more stupid ref'ing.
It was action packed - but the obvious 2x Handball goal, and that absolutely stupid situation at the end just ruined it. ****ing embarrassment imo...that ref needs sending home.
