I've seen colored plastic horns at baseball games here in the states since about 1990. I've seen and heard them before outside the context of football/soccer...I'm really befuddled that people are irritated by them. There were several at the game last night even...

(and Korea with the equalizer! :D)

I predict that the US will only have 4 goals called back by the referees today.

So Ghana will go through with a 1-0 victory on another penalty kick.

USA beaten by themselves, Ghana deserved the win - great to see someone (Gyan) ride a rough challenge where most players would have just gone down and still come through and score a great goal.

His knee hits the foot.

you can clearly see his right foot get knocked onto the back of his left calf.

Yes, yes... that does happen. But he does it on purpose. It's quite obvious, especially with that dramatic fall.

I don't want to argue about it though, I can't say I care about those diving pussies.

I only watch the Dutch World Cup matches and a few others. Other than that, I'm not really into football.

I saw a replay of that this morning, completely forgot that after he'd gone down softly he was all like "waaaaaaaaaa! I got some sand in my vagina and can't get back up!"

I can't say I wasn't rooting for Ghana.

Oh, while browsing through the dictionary, I've found this:

Disaweghanaise. –verb (used with object), -ized, -iz

if capello had any balls whatsoever he would bench rooney and lampard. i cant recall the last time lampard even played average for england, while rooney has sucked for england for the past 10 or so matches

hard to drop rooney when his potential to win a match is so great.
but that said i'd be fine with crouch & defoe up front.
lampard agreed.

Didn't think I would post in this thread because I don't watch footie but I have watched a few games, anyway today I was in Glasgow with my brother and we passed a pub on the way home in the Gorbals called the Brazenheed (catholic pub) and no word of a lie they had 4 large German flags hanging out of the 1st floor windows of the pub o_O.

*edit*

lolz I just found this on some football forum.

England's lineup should IMO be

James
Johnson Upson Terry ACole
Lennon Gerrard Milner JCole
Crouch Defoe

Barry was horrendous against Algeria but if that was due to fitness, take out lennon, move milner right and put barry at center mid

Although I do expect a comfortable german victory i really want england to win, or at least have milner and lennon do well as im a leeds fan

which is why i didn't feel bad when France cheated them out of appearing in the finals.
(for those not up on glasgow's football allegiances, they generally follow the republic of Ireland)

anyway, hopefully they'll be on the lookout for 4 argentina flags after today.
but i'm looking for a exciting, deserved England win - i think the team that brings more to the tournament should go through and England's no exception.

yes i'm disappointed they went out - The USA are a credit to world football in my opinion, the recent american players at Fulham are/were loved at the club for their attitude.
Mind you John Pantsil (lap of honour fella) is at my club as well so it wasn't all bad for me.
