Just finished W1 last night.. excellent game all-around.

I never did return to the dentist with a more 'interesting' tooth.. I thought the fighters' tooth would be the one to complete the mission, but you dont get to interact with the dentist after that point in the game. Strange.

ahhh Shani you little minx.. ;)

I'm very excited about this game, but I don't know much about it.

Meaning, I don't scout for new info, cause I don't want to get myself spoiled. I'm sure thats the case for many people too, and that's why this thread is not very active. I'm sure the activity will start as soon as the game is out.

You could read some of the RPS articles on the game. They are also hyped up about the game and they don't really write down spoilers or anything. This article for example.

The dev diaries are nice too.

I would really recommend you pre-order / buy from GoG.com. Pretty good value there (you get the Digital Premium Edition) and GoG is owned by CD Projekt.

The Witcher 1: Enhanced Edition is only $5 on GoG.com btw.

To my total lack of suprise the game has been censored in Australia

Not only that but GoG, a European distribution website mind you, has bowed to our ridiculous classification system and will be supplying the censored version to us. Regardless of the fact that our classification system can not enforce a ruling on content that is not hosted locally and is being downloaded from overseas.

Oh well, I just ordered a boxed copy of the R18 version from the UK, I got it with free shipping to Australia for 20 pounds (about $40AUD) so it worked out cheaper anyway :D

good, but just for Info, GoG just announced that they won't check your IP for your location, so autralians should be able to buy the international, uncensored version via GoG.

... on the Insane difficulty setting, once you die, Game Over! Restart from the beginning. Yeah, I won't be using that setting :D

I'm actually tempted, that is probably the most hardcore thing in an RPG.

On the other hand... considering the ammount of times I died in the first game, that'll probably be a horrible idea.

Well, there must be some sort of save system in place unless they expect you to complete the game in one marathon session.

How will that work? No saves?

I don't know, if it didnt have saves you wouldn't be able to interrupt the game.

However if it had some kind of autosave that deletes itself right after is loaded, and creates itself when you select "save and exit".

That could **** up your game if it crashes though.

Maybe it deletes itself when Geralt dies.

I believe it works like this: you can save and load your game, so thankfully you don't have to play through the game in one sitting, but if Geralt dies your save gets deleted and you have to start all over again.

I like the idea. Great way to become very attached to your character. I'd probably use that mode on my second playthrough, but not the first.

Judging the nice visuals of this game, I'll probably have to upgrade sooner or later. :( Oh well, my PC's hardware is 4-5 years old, not counting my video card. It's about time I guess.

If you care about PC gaming, you care about The Witcher 2. :)
