I agree with you that she isn't as proper as a man who had experienced the horrors in the front line, but I guess you do know Lottas did all kinds of operations themselves too, so some of them might have even been against a soviet soldier with a knife. Not that I mean everyone of them, but some...

Maybe she is a bit old and overlooking some of the things, so a male would have been better instead of her.
