I've modded my STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl now with Oblivion Lost.

It greatly improves SoC and adds in more difficulty.

Like a Controller near the very start of Agroprom Underground, before you go down the staircase

I've also thought about getting the EU, but their implementation of random events caused by roman gods turns me off. Seems like a cheap game mechanic.

Playing Heroes of Newerth, Mount and Blade singleplayer, NBA 2K11, NCAA Football 12, ME2, Civ V and Killing Floor.

A ps2 came my way today - can anyone recommend any top games for it that are ps2 exclusive (or at least not on xbox 1) ?
I can only think of GT4 and MGS 3 off hand.
Also in the interests of getting an honest up to date answer - does anyone play ps2 games online anymore? It's free unlike xbox, isn't it?

Viewtiful Joe (2D beat 'em up)
Gradius V (2D shooter)
Xenosaga series (JRPGs)
Guilty Gear XX Acccent Core Plus (2D fighter)

Got through Red Dead Redemption recently myself. It captures the feeling of a Western completely, the only other game that comes close is Gun.

Also got most of the way through the Dead Nation campaign. It's a fun little isometric shooter, but I'll have to try it on the highest difficulty in coop before I can really judge it.

Recently got into a playthrough-athon of games I have almost finished, but could not, for some reason finish. All on PS3 strangely...

So I finally finished Killzone 2 on Hard (which I chose as a difficulty for my first and only playthrough, with almost no console FPS experience... a controller is quite quirky at first, but even as a mouse and keyboard apostle, it takes worringly little time to adapt, even though I still lack the speed and precision. I can hold up online though)

Then I finally finished Br

TBH, I bought it in febraury for full price, and it's the best buy I made of the last few years (when ignoring RO1 in december).

It's a bit hard because it's a bit complex and a lot of features, but compared to Darkest Hour (a HoI2 game) and Supreme ruler, this is the most accessible title.

I do recommend getting the MEIOU mod, it makes the game 200% more enjoyable (other mods I didn't try). Also they corrected loads of events and decisions.

Expecially for that price, can't go wrong (you have to like the risk genre of course:rolleyes:)

It does however tend to go on sale a lot (two times in the last few months) and that decreases the price even further. But it's a not a high price to begin with.

Edit: when you do get the game and need help, feel free to ask;)

here to kill your monster
i'm doing the dragon rising missions, which on the whole i find reasonably enjoyable.
There are some good things in that game, particularly technically but that does make it all the more a missed opportunity.

However never mind the DR vs Arma debate or AI issues there's one thing that really pisses me off - if you want to play 'hardcore' no hud difficulty, you are forced to play without checkpoints or any saves, and this is an inexcusable poor design decision.
Having to replay entire missions from scratch makes them a chore - the last time i was treated so harshly i was playing Project IGI many years ago.

But you loved it, right? I know I did.:)

Speaking of horrible design decisions: I've been playing Ninja Gaiden 2 again a bit because my brother left it in the drive. It's just frustrating to play this when you know these people made Ninja Gaiden Black!
It's not even that they dumbed the game down. Not at all. That would be a sad but easy to accept explanation for all the mishaps, but no, they just changed things and included new things in a way that just makes you scratch your head.:(
It's still an above average action game, don't get me wrong, but the amount of little things that went wrong here - for no apparent reason at all, frustratingly - is staggering.

Warsow. Played this against my brother for a while. It's been a while since I played this and I must say, I'm not much of a fan of their new maps. They're going with a more realistic style now, as if the places could exist, like there's a tree somewhere, or relatively realistic looking buildings and it reminds of Counterstrike a bit. I don't think it fits Warsow.
"Crocinus Bridge" rules though.:)
I guess I would be turn to shreds by players I could only see as swooshing colors if I went online, but my brother and I play at a much slower pace. Slightly faster than we play Quake, I'd say, and as such I really like Warsow. It's a very smooth game with a lot of finesse.

Playing through FO3 on normal. I'd play on very hard but I don't have the patience to research and plan my build. Really despise Bethesda's leveling systems. The hardest part of their games is determining how to build your character and playing around the system rather than intuitively. In Oblivion you actually end up getting killed by mud crabs late-game if you choose the abilities you actually intend to use when creating your character.

After acquiring the best possible equipment for my sneaky sniper and playing around with it a bit, I realize what a horrible mistake that was. I'm about to go in the game files and turn him into another super-intelligent power-armored melee brute on drugs like my favorite NV guy.

And on that note, I'm about a week into a binge playing New Vegas, which I got for $10 over last weekend.

Here's my mod load order :p

Spoiler!

I'm really enjoying the game, but this time I didn't wait to beat it to mod the **** out of it. After Oblivion and Morrowind, I know the score from Bethesda. They make the engine and the content, and the players mod the balance to where they want it or need it.

With these mods though, you get weather effects, truly dark nights, control over how much XP you get, reduces the impact of skill on things like damage, nerfs everyone's HPs, makes stealth harder, makes high quality food, gear and stuff a lot rarer, fills out the wasteland with a ton more NPCs and wildlife.....

Yeah. I got one character to Boulder City before I said "screw this, I'm restarting from scratch the way this game was meant to be played."

So do yourself a favor when you get NV and get some mods. I would have enjoyed Fallout 3 a hell of a lot more if I hadn't played only the vanilla Beth version.
