The venerable Bayo Dive

Hello chaps. Did a search for this and found no dedicated thread for what was certainly one of the top features for Ostfront: the bayo dive.

Sprinting toward someone, hitting the prone key and flying toward them as a human spear was one of the best ways to kill someone in Ostfront. Will this integral feature also be in HoS?

I hope so, it would make a nice tactical option for bayo fights.

A variation could be, if sprinting and holding down the bayo button, and you press jump, you will do a "lunge", which will be quicker and do more damage, but gives you inertia, so if you miss, you will be vunerable, and if you hit into a wall, you will be disabled from bayoing again for a second.

It must be a midair diving spear! Clearly you have never bayo dived someone through a window, enough of your silly realism.

This is almost being considered 'dolphin diving' for me, this is just a cheap tactic to get a kill, face me face to face in a bayo fight! Dont duck down as a coward...

i consider it a very good tactic for embarrassing nubs.......if i can get a divestab on you, then chances are you would be no match for me standing up anyway.

i do hope diving will still be in. in some situations it's much easier to just dive through a window or over a short wall than it would be to go through the whole mantling process.

Since the first days in Ostfront I hated this ability, there's absolutely nothing realistic about it, it's just like bunny hopping in CoD. Please remove it.

Ok maybe bayo diving is... but diving into a foxhole, through a window, etc... should definitely NOT be removed.

This. Normal diving for cover or thru a window etc is a very good tactic for not getting your @ss shot off IMO.

Keep the divestab in - it's easy to defend against and stabbing a player attempting one is even more embarassing for them than being it is for you being divestabbed.

I never said that the dive-to-prone needs to be removed but the bayo-dive is an exploit IMO.

I always considered it a funny action that barely anyone ever did, and I don't see a reason to remove it. But I don't even know if you'll be able to do it in HOS in the first place.

Hopefully melee is re-worked so that we don't need to worry about such silly tactics.

One of the interviews from the Gamescom confirms an improved melee system. Hopefully the sideswing buttsmack is back

I'm betting that the mighty bayo dive won't be making a return on account of how silly it was.

But we'll always have Ost for those times where we want a glitch-ridden match of SPARTAAAAAA.

bayo diving looks cool but its the easiest move to deal with in a bayo duel. Just move to the side and stab the proned diver.
