And today, when Google asked its users to sign a petition protesting two anti-piracy laws circulating in Congress, millions responded.

A spokeswoman for Google confirmed that 4.5 million people added their names to the company's anti-SOPA petition today.

I don't know much about how the internet works, but would the censorship just block websites for American IP addresses, or does the whole world lose access to American sites that are deemed infringing on copyright laws?

Just read up about SOPA/PIPA or watch one of the many videos explaining them and their consequences.

In short, everyone will be effected.

When World is against SOPA/PIPA, my government is going to sign up ACTA, european version of SOPA in a few days. Even if ACTA has already been rejected in the European Union with a sizeable 663 votes against 13, my "genius" government wants it. But TBH it isn't the most retarded thing what politics have done to my country. That is another reason to leave that most ridiculous and poor country in the Europe.

but giving my magazine to my neightboors is just as much as pirating as copyright stuff is. He haven't paid for my magazines. he shouldn't be allowed to read them.

I would love seing all shops that has newspapers and books open in public getting sued for it, because random people take a peek without paying!!!
