Just a quick question, is there a bind or key that you can use to navigate to the sniper role/slot quicker than mousing to it? Thanks alot

Lol thats a good idea, but I do not think I am that hardcore. Perhaps increasing the mouse sensitivity would help?
Sometimes you can just ask politely and the current sniper may give up the role. It happens less and less these days though.
Yea that would work to, but I usually am there the first, so the possibility of getting is usually pretty good, I just keep getting beat in the mouse race. Was just wondering if anyone had their own secret or way of doing it but I guess its nothing but a good comp or connection and a fast hand... I guess I gotta start working it out again 
I don't know but, I'm certain that it works, because when I got this new computer and it was new, the first thing I installed was RO, and I was getting the sniper everytime, but one day I got pissed off and uninstalled the game, i reinstalled it a few days later and I havent seen a free sniper rifle spot since then
oh and Murphy, I do not use to do that, first I wouldn't want it that badly, and second, it would suck if you ask someone to give it up, and suddenly all the vultures wait for the guy to give it up and steal the spot for themselves, that would be a very annoying scenario that I would try to avoid at all costs.

Wow thanks ender, just wondering though, my comp is pretty decent to begin with, are there any of those tweaks that far surpass the others in gain? IE which one has the most bang for the buck, ne one know?
Sniper! Bah. It's over rated. and I love it when once in a very long while i attempt to play this position and some asshat team kills me to get my sniper rifle. miss me with that nonsense.
Yea, I made my mouse move faster on menus using the in game adjuster, and got rid of the mouse lag options in settings, it moves much faster, and I played sniper for 3 or 4 long *** matches, till I got tired. Well thanks for the advice guys.
i have 8800gts,q6600 and 4gb of ram and it still makes a difference.
some of the tweaks turn off cashing a few things(such as sound) before you load up all the way. I don't notice a difference since i am picking my class and waiting for everyone else to join. 
Scopes are a lot harder to use than general bolt action rifles, and definitely got many disadvantages with them as well. A good sniper is a great asset to a team, and its a role i won't be able to fulfill. I'm a pure bolt action rifle user, but i don't use it as self punishment or anything its just what I'm best with.
I don't understand people calling other weapons n00b weapons, as i see it the rifle is the most newbish weapon, its like the most bare version of every weapon all you need to do is point a click no complications.

The distaste for the sniper role is amazing, wow, perhaps they cannot obtain it fast enough, or they get wasted by it continuously and have developed a bitter resentment for it, probably the latter...
Anyhow, my favorite place to snipe is berezina, talk about skill. You not only have to get a good feel for how to aim high, you have to aim where the target will be a half second into the future. Nothing in the game is more rewarding to me than nailing the enemy arty whore halfway across the map

I have an odd situation on my end. With bolt sniper rifles I cant hit anything. I can be proned and looking right at the guy and he doesnt have to be far and i will still miss. But once I get one of the semi autos i do not have the same problem and usually hit on the first round. Weird.
alright, I really don't understand the "bolts are better" and " i always miss with a sniper rifle" etc. The sniper rifle I feel is THE dominant weapon in most infantry-based maps.
I can lock-down whole flanks or defend against waves of enemy or take out careless tank commanders with a sniper rifle, which I find to be deadly accurate (but no so much the semi auto sniper)
Much depends on the sniper. ie: don't get too close to the enemy. take out mg'ers, etc. I also like to let my team know when and where i get killed so they can pick up my gun. Also, if you can't get the role, keep an eye out for when your sniper gets killed and go pick up his gun, but don't be annoyingly close to the sniper as to give away their position. Remember, I am watching you...

most of the time you can ignore those pro-bolt comments and classify them as elitist douchebaggery
Someone should make a map where germans have only access for rifles (riflemen, squad leader) and machineguns (MG class) and maybe AT guy (possibly SMG, but I'd prefer pistol for superior realizmzzz) to simulate a situation that was possible since beginning of the war against regularly classed soviet side and then let's see how much elitistic complains we see
