The sniper class

Hey Everyone,

I'm not sure anyone has really talked about this issue I've looked around the forum but can't find anything. I was wondering how sniper class would work?

If i understand it correctly, the more you play a certain class, use a certain weapon you're level goes up in these particular tasks. Does that mean that the more experienced sniper will be first in line for the sniper class?

I had this idea, I know its really too late to influence the game at all but I'm putting it out there maybe just to get some input on it.

Maybe a scope could be given to the best riflemen in the previous or current game like an in game commendation. This could be based on accuracy more then numbers of kills so that it wont be awarded necessarily to the person who hangs around the longest.

Or maybe a daily sniper list. The best accuracy shooters of the day, with rifleman class get priority.

if you perform very good you will get to pick classes like sniper even if you dont have a high rank. this is a promotion for players who perfor very good even on a low rank

I like sneaking behind enemy lines and shooting people in the back with scopes. No honor but it works.

I hope this game has Steam achievement for killing snipers with non-sniper class. Something like 100-500 dead snipers. That would make snipers #1 target for other classes for quite some time.

I like that idea, let me be the first sniper that you go after!! GL with that.

I can go all day with a sniper rifle or if you prefer I can take off the head with iron sites (sniper rifles will have them also) or I can just snipe ya with a pistol (yes I can get head shots with them also). I do not need a sniper rifle to snipe with, just give me a good weapon, and I will take my time to paint the walls with your entrails....hmmmm I think that looks a little like Picasso!!

As far as I know, regular riflemen will never get scopes for thier bolt-actions. I do however like your suggestion about class-priority based on performance. I would rather have the sniper class go to someone who is a crack shot, instead of whoever has the faster PC/connection to the server. But this would also keep someone who just joined the server and is a really good sniper from playing the class.

Perhaps disabling class selection till all the players connected to the server have fully loaded the map. I have seen the suggestion to vote players out of a class if they are terrible, and this wouldn't be too bad, except when whiney players are involved.

There is no sniper class in Red Orchestra 2, only the designated marksman.
