I have run several tests, and the ratio of stalkers to shivers seems to vary on a per-game basis. Are there any particular maps where you have noticed a shortage of stalkers? At the moment what happens is the shiver simply gets added to the wave list, rather than replacing anything, so I suppose that'd explain why a certain specimen may appear to be spawning less frequently. I could have it replace some of the clots on certain waves if necessary.
Thanks for your reply. I have noticed it on pretty much every map as I tested it and noticed quite a huge difference. An example would be when I was playing KF-Office in my custom 12 player server that it went from 1-3 stalkers every 5-10 minutes seen/heard but when taken off, it went to maybe having groups of 5 try jump us at once every so often. I hope you understand my reasons for not using this. I absolutely love it and my community miss it :D

We ripped that stupid perk out ages ago @ WPC...its pretty useless. lol:D

Btw benjamin. Flux has a heavy modded server, so this might influence the shiver mod. @ the wpc we never had this stalker problem on the classic server. :)

not even with our Lacerator on the deadspace server. (basically FP with shiver abilities)

Yeah cause i've purely balanced everything out and made the game run the basic waves etc etc it kind of ruins it. I love my Commando so it's staying! :p

I personally wouldn't call it heavily modded but it sure is modded, actually Hemi have you tried my server yet? I know you have been on my site and checked it out way back when we first got in contact.

Oh and that Lacerator sounds EPIC! :eek: I want one for a pet...

Is the spawn rate of the shiver itself good though? I'm doing a bit of testing with it myself since I don't want there to be too many or too few.

Personally it spawns too much but then again im playing with 12 players on suicidal. For a game like this, they do spawn too much for my liking as im having this conversation with a few members of mine.

My opinion is really this:
He has quite high damage for something that can run as fast as you, can teleport to you and the amount that spawn at once, it's too much to keep the game balanced.

Update 1.4 - 20, April 2012

  • Added material check to avoid potential problem.
  • Changed wave configuration for mutator.
  • Fixed sounds that used those of the clot.

Hope it will get whitelisted with the latest changes. I would like to run it along with the Brute and still be able to perk up

Right i've had this some time and would like to make my word before this gets onto the whitelist just incase you see my points as valid enough (well you get me).

1.) They have way too much health. I have had a look at the health compared to others and this is my findings:

unless there is some sort of "hidden" resistence on the other zeds, i agree with flux - i prefer these guys to be trashy in a similar fashion to stalkers, they obviously don't fill that role with tank health. Last i played with them they spawned at a similar pace as GF, and thats just too much health :/

You absolutely sure the files are in place?

By the way to everyone else. Please text out my version of the spawns. I have lowered the spawning by roughly half and it seems nice. Please try it and give your opinions here.

I don't mean to make your verson look bad Benjamin but im only helpping to give you guys the best out of this specially as you're going for whitelist.

i'm certain all the files are in their proper places. i load several other muts with the launcher too and they all load fine but this one and the admin + mut, they are both reported unknown muts in the server log. is there a limit how many can be loaded from that batch file?
