Up there, in the trees...
I'm just disappointed at your solution to the problem.

Sadly it disappoints us too, it disappoints us that we have to go to these lengths to protect ourselves, If we had another way around it, we would do it, but "Ignoring it" isn't going to cut it anymore.

You know, we do this for free, we take time out of our own lives to bring the community fresh new content, we bring the community in on our projects, like I wanted everyones input on The Rotting, that mod was made for the community, dreamed up with ideas from the community, I personally don't create mods for me to play, I've played about 2 rounds on a server running "The Rotting", its for everyone else to enjoy, not me, I don't have any personal gain from modding KF or any other game.

I'd have a different tune If I was being paid tens of thousands a year to make content for games like TWI are, I would let the community rip into me and my content as much as they wanted, I'm being paid for them to do that, but when I'm doing it for free and they still disrespect me like that, its reality check time, I wont let myself be on the A$$ end of a kicking.

I think what myself and people like Hemi are doing, is a viable solution, we make the content, we update people on that content with our own discussion service, and when the content is complete, we will alert everyone, including people on the TWI forums, with a single post regarding the content. To me that is a viable solution to this current problem, it cuts both parties to a limited service, we both lose in one way or another.

Personally, to end the drama around this modder vs twi forums dispute, we don't want a perfect forum, we just want a fair forum, a forum where we can share our work with the community, and where the community can give us their honest feedback in a good constructive way.

I'm going to end my part in this discussion with a truth:

http://forums.tripwireinteractive.com/member.php?u=21363

I am BlazinAces, I have been previously perminately banned from the TWI forums for challenging the admins, they slapped me with several infractions for defending people against attackers, when I challenged their decisions, they banned me no questions asked.

The reason why I'm telling you this, I don't want another ban for trying to defend myself, thats why I made the decision to not post updates anymore, I am only contributing to this discussion to tell my side of the coin, and to defend our actions in recent weeks.

I went from being treat like dirt, being banned, returning, contributing to the community, creating new content for the community, to being driven back out of the community.

Where as the guy who was attacking people, is still here, was never banned, has contributed nothing to the community, has created no content for the community, and yes, still attacks the community.

Tell me, out of us both, who deserved the boot?

So I have some sour grapes admittedly, but I still came back, I still contributed to a community that once shunned me, but when I came back I promised myself that I wouldnt be put back into that situation, hense the drastic actions.

Anyway! That's me done, onto the future.

I will be back to release "KF Zombies" on October 31st, and then shortly after, I will release my final KF mod, which, as always, is a surprise.

Until then, all the best folks.

Hunter-

I understand you guys feel slighted... I do. I just feel like you make a big deal out of it, and honestly, i see less trolls around than i see ignorance - and the latter can be dealt with... I'll miss your work. You guys do good stuff... I'm just disappointed at your solution to the problem.

There's no pleasing some people. . . It is being FIXED as Benjamin has stated. . . yet you still seem to need to moan about things. Just keep a lid on it until you've got something constructive to say. It is hemi's mod so he has the right to voice his opinion on it no matter if you disagree or not. If you truly believe hemi thinks F**K KF etc etc then you're delusional you truly are. . . after all the work he has put into the modding get your head sorted out right now and don't post on here again until you do.

Sie, really? did you read my post? Or any of these modders post. They all feel slighted, and are running from it. They blame it on a bad community, though of all the forums I've participated in this is the LEAST TROLLED and usually the MOST RESPONSIVE. Which is why i wonder whether or not they're taking criticism too harshly.
As for the last part of your post, LOL. Its a public forum bro. And since it provides me with mods and info, and on some topics, intelligent discussion, i'm not going anywhere.

Running away to other forums isn't going to solve the problem of people moaning about a mod and asking when it's going to be released, it's just going to be a different set of people. It's just something you have to learn to put up with, especially if you announce a mod somewhat before its estimated completion. I'm personally flattered when people moan about me having not released something yet, it means I'm working on something worthwhile that people want to play with.

As for the trolls, there are one or two bad apples on these forums but they are just best ignored. Why let them win by leaving the forums?

I'm not sure when I'll do the update, probably not for a week or two due to the project I'm currently working on.

So here are the plans for the next update:

 • Reduce spawning rate.
 • Add attack delay after teleporting, to give players a chance to react.
 • Fix teleporting problems.

I've always been good to the modders on here and have tried to be genuinely responsive with their projects that they release. Helping out fix bugs on new maps, trying out new game modes, etc. I'm dissapointed to hear that the modders are getting such animosity, in spite of the time they invested to release KF material. :(

Greetings folks, i am quite new to the game compared to other members of this community but really love this game and think it is one of the best CO-OP fps games so far.
First of all, i would like to thank all people who devote much of their free time to give the community new mods for the game and keep the interest for the game growing more. I had downloaded the Brute and tried him in Solo and LAN and felt really amazed by the work done to that specimen making it feel right in place with the other zeds. I hope the Shiver will get whitelisted too in a future patch to make us with the lower perks able to have fun with it and advance in the game level system at the same time.Is there a way to play with the Shiver by adding its files in the corresponding game folders like with the Brute? I did copy all files in the correct folders but when i add the mutator before the game i get an error wich i get with every other mutator before game except with the brute that works fine. I am not familiar with programming or setting up muts on my own other than just copy-pasting files in the steam Killing Floor folders.
Once again, thanks to all the modders who help the rest of us enjoy this great game to the limits!

I like Shiver. He's not actually powerful, but tricky and fun to play against. He's also can be met at the early levels which is big + in my eyes.

I just put up my server a few days ago, ran across the Brute, installed it onto my server, and everyone has been loving it. I then looked for more zeds and came across this one. I see that it is not whitelisted, but I would still like to play a game against that character with others using my server. I've followed the instructions for adding the mutator, and when I select the mutator I am unable to change perks and do not see the zed on wave 2.

Do you have any suggestions?

Perks can't be selected because it is not whitelisted nor greylisted though i hope they will whitelist it like the Brute, I don't know why you have that issue in wave 2, it worked fine for me there

In my web admin interface I see that under rules it shows "Shiver package name", an empty box, and then a 0. I tried typing Shiver012 there, but the 2 gets cut off. Does this mean anything?

Also I had no problem with this package when adding the mutator to a solo game.

Did it only work for you in a solo game, or were you able to get it working on a server? I have had success in playing against the Shivers in a solo match.

Also I noticed that under my Web Admin Interface and Rules "Shiver package name" shows up and there is a blank text box. To the right of that text box is a 0. I tried typing in Shiver012, but it cuts off after Shiver01. I then tried renaming Shiver012.u to Shiver12.u and also made the change within Shiver.ini to reflect that.

This still did not help so I reverted back to the original files.

Try playing further ahead just incase it was a map related error for wave 2. Also more players/higher difficulty = more chance of them spawning.

I played with him some times, not much at all but I still have some impressions and ideas. Oh this time, I'm not suggestion something that could look like nerfing it at all for any perk or even hoping that you would alter him according to my suggestions. I'm just sharing the ideas I got from playing him for further inspiration for anyone who reads it. Enjoy!

It is a community made zed but the quality is almost KF original, so I will compare him to the KF ones as if it was released by TWI as a beta zed.

Behavior:
I've read the thread and he seems to have been nerfed a lot. Maybe I played him on a way too easy difficulty but to me his teleport isn't any different to play with than a charging gorefast. He is hard to outrun but I can just chop his head of with my katana when he arrives. At least while playing zerk he doesn't add any gameplay or something. As zerk you just chop-chop anything that suddenly appears besides you and they go dead-dead. Maybe it's different while camping with a peashooter when they can get through all those bullets unharmed, but I haven't played with him that much. I feel that it's just a clot as it is now. Just like stalkers with their useless "invisibility".

If someone who has played with him extensivly then please post anything about what he adds to your game and in what way you have to change your strategy as a camper/kiter/raging rambo with different perks. Only post here seem to be about his shaking head, which doesn't separate him from just another zed you've killed before you see him in your shotgun blast.

Texture:
His texture is ok but not fantastic. He gives off the same furry impression as the black brute. It's some how not the polished/sweaty bare skin/clear/reflecting style. I can't do textures (no idea of the process) so I can't tell if it's hard to replicate or if it's intentional. I prefer the KF style. It's what I'm used to and it makes him the odd one who stands out as lower quality.

Looks like I'm only complaining but I've just got high standards to compare him with so don't let these comments make you sad q:
Other areas unmentioned since they've showed no flaws during my brief testing.
__________________________________________________
Ideas, sharing because I feel like it. This is a completely new zed I'm talking about but I qall him Qshiver because of similarities. Maybe he should replace 20% of the sirens or something (random number).

They Qshiver stays weak like a clot but is given an improved teleport that makes him many times worse than sirens and stuff like that.
When a shiver teleports he saves his location A, then teleports to a player at position B.
When the Qshiver succeeds with an attack at position B the shiver will teleport back to position A and bring the player with him.
This version would be able to teleport through walls and welded doors and ignore Line of Sight qompletely, possible teleporting the player back out of a camp to the crowded outside of the welded doors where his teammates can't help him. :mad:/:eek:
While kiting and running from a FP + Qshiver or something similar then he will teleport right to you even if you break FP and Qshiver LoS and teleport you back to the FP, so kill him fast ^^
He will try to stay shielded by other strong zeds to protect himself from harm while going into TP max dist and make sure that position A is as close to the strong zeds as possible for maximum effect!

If the Qshiver fails to attack the player at pos B but instead attack at another posistion C then it will not teleport all the way back to pos A, which could be at the other side of mountainpass if you kite him for a long time on charge dist..... Qshiver would just teleport back as far as he can from the direction he came from.
Another problem would be if the Qshiver TP:ed from a spawnpoint so that a player got to a place designed to be unreachable. Might be hard to code if there isn't any zones already coded into the map files as zed-only areas.
Even with qlot health he could become the #1 threat with 1 hit kills (indirect). His own damage would be low so he would be rather harmless when alone since player position wouldn't matter then.

The thread owner doesn't want this idea to be the topic of the thread so tell them how much you love his(original shiver) freaky shaking head and more importantly how he changes your gameplay if you wanna comment on my idea....
