The purpose of F Key (ZOOM) ?

I think it's dumb. If you use one of the scoped rifle, the "bionic" zoom is almost the same as the scope's. Which means that all players are able to spot over long distances without a scope or binocs.

its for people using maual zooming instead of this useless auto zoom
but only problem its on hold and not toggle

This is the reason after a few hours of playing, i realised that Mosin nagant + Zoom = win. As long as you not in a building againt assult class because then that isnt such a good idea as you will lose 9/10 of the times

It makes up for a monitor's inability to display the same kind of resolution as the human eye. All it's doing is simulating focus.

I sense the collective exhaustion in your voice of having to keep re-explain this concept... over, and over, and over, and over, and over....

It isn't actually to make up for resolution, it is because in the game objects aren't at 1:1 scale when far away. The zoom is to help make players that are far away appear the height they would be in reality, not 1/2 scale.

And as of this moment there is no way to disable it via server, it is a client side option.

We'll have to wait and see. Ostfront was very flexible so I'm just assuming HoS is the same.

Maybe a limit should be added to the amount of time you can remain zoomed in? 5 seconds or something like that? I like the feature as is, though - worked well in Arma and works just as well here.

I dont get why people want to disable the zoom. Now 100 meter in the game looks like 100 meter in real life. IMO its one of the best features in RO2.

Also the sniper scope right now is only 1.5x. Thats why the difference between sniper scope and zoom is marginal.

There will be 4x and 6x scopes than u will see the diffrence.
