The plot?

Is the description of the map "KF-Suburbia" TWIs official stance on the plot? In the KF universe, have the specimens officially invaded America (somehow)?

And if it is canon (TWI supported), then how did the zeds cross the expanses of the oceans? Europe is accessible via the Channel Tunnel, but the Atlantic is not an easy thing to cross.

They used Bloats as boats. PS... Icebreaker.

so all the new map's descriptions are official plot?
What about the icebreaker description talking about a rival company.......
not to mention the long-awaited foundry 'secret horror'.....
I never really payed much attention to Icebreaker's description, and when I did, I felt that is was so in-the-air that it was flexible enough and therefore to be considered viable.

But suburbia kinda brings it to a whole new level here.

I don't consider it canon in the slightest.

For every community-made map, I detest the descriptions. People try to be too creative/dramatic/unique with them. A bit of description on the setting and a couple lines of backstory are all that's bloody needed, not some drivel about how infection is travelling across Britain (Wait, what infection?) and an essay about some sister company of Horzine being brought into the business world or whatever. Nobody cares.

I'm pretty sure Foundry's secret is Husk. Factory workers bio says "half man half machine" and there are three dudes with machines, Patty, Fleshpound and Husk. Husk also fits the fire and molten metal theme of foundry nicely.

Edit: Also lolwutplot in my zombieshooter? Some background is nice but there is no need for moar plot or progression then we already have (plot: kill specimen, progression: next wave, kill moare). So imagination is the only limit for new maps. I'd love to see Bloat Boats.

A zombie army with no way off the island would be an amazing oversight on the Patriarch's part. Isn't he supposed to be an evil genius or something?

Story is not important in KF, but decent writing can make any game better. Obviously you won't see cinematics or anything in a game like KF, but you can still tell a story through the environments and level text.

KFs story is important: hell any games story is important, if not it's random ****.

KF has a story about an evil scientist trying to take over the world with clones. = HORROR.

Call Of Duty(Didn't want to bring this one up... but whatever.) is set in modern "warfare" setting usaully in modern areas :p

STORY TWAS IMPORTANT >:O
(I personally think the maps released BY TRIPWIRE UP TO FOUNDRY were story the rest were random maps with the tag.)

Exactly. I'm pretty sure the Patriarch would have some sort of plan to spread the Zed "army" around the world, starting with the US and perhaps Russia/China. Otherwise, the world could largely avert the danger of world-domination by nuking Britain. Harsh, but I'm pretty sure some country (*cough* United States *cough*) would be nuke-happy enough to realize it's that or allow the Zed's to spread the world over (as in, an apocalypse).

I doubt about evil genius, should you search the forums for the background bits you will notice things got out of control. The magnitude of the event is sure too big but if you study carefully Kevin Calmley goes mad when he sees the specimen is being massacared, loses some more marbles when he sees they cannibalize the protestors and goes completely bat**** insane when Specimen call him father.

I see it more like primitive parental instincts on play rather then world domination. I doubt he can even control the cloning vats anymore and just happy to have more "children".

I know almost nothing about the plot that isn't readily encountered ingame, but just listening to the guy this is the impression I got of him.

the story was that kevin something was ceo/scientist of horzine, doin military contracts, thats what the specimens are, basically experimental clones for the army.

so why wouldnt he diversify with american military contracts and have cloning centers there? besides, there's more money to be made here, until rumsfeld cuts down the pentagon budget.

Thats what I thought, especially after reading all the summaries. It really doesnt seem like domination. And even then, the summary in 'Suburbia' is very specific about the order of events, just specific enough for it to single-handedly redirect the entire plot. If it's TWI endorsed. I just want a solid Yes or No here by TWI, thats all.

From what Ive seen of the plot, it is a very well-developed story of a man who goes insane, and unleashes a plague upon Britain (and Britain alone). Not about some villain from Mortal Kombat who wants to take over the world (OF COURSE!;)). I just think that the plot needs to be a little more accessible and distributed. But maybe thats just me.

I didn't really mean a concerted plan to take over. I just always thought the Zeds saw themselves as either a "new species" or "next stage in evolution" (which is the norm for these kinds of stories). And what is the best way to ensure the survival of a new species? Diaspora. Hence I can see the Zeds dispersing like a walking plague, first to the rest of Europe, at the same time overseas to the United States, and eventually across the Middle East to Russia and the Far East.

It's sort of like that Ps3 game Resistance, as the enemy overruns each nation it spreads to others. And I was under the impression that the Zeds quickly overran almost all of Britain. Hence I have little problem with later maps (timeline-wise) talking about Zeds on the the high seas (Icebreaker) and invading other countries (Suburbia, KF_Afghanistan is even fairly believable to me).

Even though the Patty is insane, he still has one opposable thumb, and the fact that he uses a custom made prosthetic rocket launcher arm shows a bit of premeditation. :p
