Damnit, why did my pictures stop working on the previous page? When i posted them they worked fine! Oh well, at least there's still the link.

Yeap, think of it this way, every other person on this forum is unable to read.
I'd like to point out, I am one of those people that are actually unable to read. Luckily Text-To-Speech software has come a long way ;]
seems only to be 20% according to this graph, which is 1 200 000 000 out of 6 billion people. It's outdated though, I guess the light blue line represent calculated progress, not researched data, but I doubt it jumped from 20% to 50% in 11 years.

All too often images don't load for me. Raziel's last image was blank for me, as were all these crazy guys with guns on the last page. Facebook images never load for me, but that's probably because I don't have a Facebook account. What I'm finding REALLY weird though is that this is third time I'm having to type this out because each time I hit save or enter it shows nothing.

The number makes sense if you count those able to read, but NOT able to read the latin alphabet. Which i guess is common in Asia.
I suppose they took the whole world population as base so you might also consider adding all the children -6.
In places like China I wouldn't be surprised if there were some people who only knew the latin alphabet for pinyin, and struggle with sinograph literacy.
