Well it's my parents' garden and fountain, I asked them about it and they said it's no problem.

Well, depending on the temperature, with really low temperatures the water in the pipes can freeze up and do serious damage to the pipes, if they are not dug in low enough.

My uncle has a farm and always has all taps that are located outside slightly open to prevent just that from happening.
