What you guess why almost everyone is taking an StGw44 or a captured PPSh ingame rather than taking/keeping his MP40. The game simply ****ed up the gun. Which is really sad :(.
No, which is really realistic.
German soldiers really likes more ppsh than mp40. Thanking bigger magazine and smaller recoil. Yes, recoil really is less at ppsh than mp40. You can find many photos of German soldiers in the Internet then they holding in hands ppsh. A lack of ammo was not, in June-August 1941 Germans cap the whole warehouses with ammunition.

Yes they did use them. But why should the MP40 have a higher recoil than the PPSh?
The MP40 chambers the 9x19mm Parabellum round of the Luger Pistol 08, the Luger has no high recoil, does it? So it should be the same recoil as the Luger Pistol.
The PPSh41 chambers the 7,62x25mm, this is a larger round, isn't it?
Not that much bigger, but still.

The barrel length is 251mm with the MP40, the PPSh41 has 270mm of which 240mm are drilled inside, so actually there is no real difference.

Have you videos to prove your ideas? :) Share them with us here. :)

okay then, didn't know that the 7.62mm Tokarev was used, thought was a different round. Well then lads, we got it, all the MP40 and both the PPD and the PPSh have not so high recoil then.

Thank you PRAPOR

The MP40 is also heavier than the PPSh, so not only is it firing a less powerful round, but its inertia will mean less kickback with short bursts.

I searched for some info on weights.

The MP40 (loaded) has 4,7kg

The PPSh41 (banana mag loaded) has about 4,3kg
The PPSh41 (drum mag loaded) has 5,4kg

And concerning the PPSh I found an interesting article called "The Wehrmacht PPSh", maybe we see such a 9mm conversion in action in HoS.

Would be something new
