anyone who has joined a hard or suicidal game on a late wave know how insanley retarded it is to drop someone in the middle of that hell with a single 9mm limited ammo and no armor or cash what so ever.
now many people will say that if the game is played properly players will both heal and give weapons and money to the new player but often times players dont have money or extra weapons to give out or simply dont give a **** about other people and you end up with the unballanced late join problem
of course once you gain a high enough perk level you start out with a tier 1 or 2 weapon based on your skill. but again the entire system seems geared to make the good players better and let the casual gamer just get instantly killed by a spawn that is much too powerfull for a simple 9mm pea shooter.
i propose a system that calculates the wave and either generates a random weapon or significant cash (enough for armor and a basic gun depending on how late in the game the player joins). perks at a level high enough to grant weapons will disable the system.
as it is the difficulty and number of zeds increases with each additional player who joins so crippling a late wave joiner with a pistol and no armor serves only to make the game more difficult to the people who were already playing. in fairness sake the game needs to be ballanced and place players on equal footing at later waves.
the idiocy of joining and dying because your trying to fight off a angry FP with a pistol has gone on too long and is making the game rather annoying. the only alternative would be to fix the SERVER BROWSER so it SHOWS THE CURRENT WAVE. but players have been ASKING FOR THAT SINCE RELEASE AND THE DEVS KEEP SITTING ON THEIR ASSES. so the handicap is really the only solution at this point.
