The Mass Bug Report Thread


As is required when playing a beta game, me and a few friends from a group known as the Ordo Imperialis are conducting bug testing and reviewing, so below you will see what we have found and what we have confirmed, they will be seperated into categories to make it easier to understand, any and all input and outside reports are appreciated and we will add it to the list.

NOTE: We are fully aware that there's a pinned bug report topic, but we posted this topic 2 hours after that post was even made, chances are we didn't spot it before, so we're sticking with this.


Fixed Bugs


  • Spawning without a weapon - FIXED
  • Firing your weapon upon spawning - FIXED
  • Server Browser lag - FIXED
  • Floating bolts after people died during reload - FIXED
  • Spawning in enemy locations during Territory game mode - FIXED
  • People are able to make other players light up like glowsticks if they set their graphics to a certain setting, would rather not post what the setting is to reduce exploitation ingame so I will PM it to a dev that asks me.
  • Stats do not update properly/at all, go into any game, ranked server and kill over 20 people, the states in the progression menu does not update at all, you will not level up in Honor and your weapons wont level up either.
Cosmetic Bugs

  • Sometimes you can see 'teeth' on the players hand during certain games, image provided below:


Interface Bugs

  • Vote Menu only shows 1 map in the selections so it makes it impossible to select other maps when a map vote is being cast.

  • Map icons sometimes get stuck on your screen after you've cast an order, only way to fix this is to hit the map key and then close it again.

  • SVT is displayed twice in the weapon progression list, also random stats are displayed when the weapon hasn't been used, image provided below:


Gameplay Bugs

  • Cannot bandage near cover, doing so makes you take cover on a wall and then immediately bleed out.

  • Stats progression doesn't update properly, you can earn over 25 kills with a weapon and the stats will state you've only done 6 (As with my case and certain other confirmations from other players).

  • Blindfiring around corners can cause the gun to "Float" in midair, reloading was the only way I was able to fix this issue, this usually occurs when blindfiring in doorways, image provided below:




  • Mounting the AT rifle on certain walls/cover and then reloading can cause the ironsights to misalign when you emerge back from cover, image provided below:



  • Game still indescriminately switches people to the other team without any form of warning.

  • Nearly impossible to reload MG gunners if they're mounted on active cover, attempting to re-arming them will cause you to take cover on the wall they're mounted on.

  • Reported issue of not being able to spawn in Tank Maps (Such as Gumrak) even though the player re-selected his class repeatedly, lasted for several minutes.

  • While being supressed, reloading your gun and then cancelling the reload then swiftly switching to another gun will cause you to hold an "Invisible Rifle", image provided below:


  • Suppression randomly occurs when not being fired upon and can last for several minutes there-on, tends to happen often in any game where artillery is present, image provided below:


Five Minutes Later....




  • On Fallen Fighters, it's been seen that the Spy Plane for the allies get's stuck in mid-air and can be seen idleing in the sky, image provided:




  • Reported bug of mounted MG gunners firing while facing the other way, tends to randomly happen, but is usually found to happen after it's been reloaded, image provided below:




  • Weak melee seems to do more damage then a fully charges melee hit, maybe they got switched in terms of strength by mistake.

One Time Bugs

NOTE: Bugs in this section are considered a "One off", they happened, they were weired but they couldn't be recreated or happened on random chance.


  • Player reported that their weapon backfired on them, they were using the AT rifle for the Axis on Fallen Fighters, they aimed as far left as they could and then fired, as soon as the muzzle flash went off they instantly died and killed the person behind them, game displayed that they suicided as a result of this.

Suggestions



  1. Auto Select - Sometimes during a game I'd like to just autoselect and join any team, a lot of people probably think the same and it would be a nice addition.
  2. More AT rounds - The AT rifles can destroy a tank, but they don't have enough rounds to do so, I've personally unloaded all my AT ammo on a tank (Hitting the crucial points) and still didn't destroy it, if this cannot be done at the very least allow people to resupply AT soldiers like they do with MG gunners.
  3. Add an option to allow non-toggle ironsights rather then toggle, this will at least give people the choice to pick between them both.
  4. Seperate the use key and the cover key, as cover is set to take precedant over anything else.
  5. Have a clear marker showing where the "Protected Area's" are, this is a major problem for people trying to flank in the Grain Elevator level where jumping into a grain pit causes them to immediately die.
  6. Make class selection...safer, to the point that it doesn't instantly kill you if you select a class while alive, somthing like in RO1 where it says "You will attempt to respawn as a (Classname here).

Me and a few friends, as we usually do with beta's, have combed through this game last night and this morning to find a nice set of bugs and potential changes for TWI to take a look at, here they are:

DAY 1 - Bugs:

1. Random muzzle flashes.

The gun randomly fires off a muzzle flash, can also be seen on other players as well, no idea what causes this, seems to be random.

2. Spawning with no weapon.

During the squad selection, certain classes, if full, spawn you with no weapon what-so-ever, this is usually caused in Countdown gamemodes.

3. Firing as you spawn.

We noticed that on several occasions we respawned firing our weapons off without actually pressing the fire button.

4. Steam overlay "Ghosting".

When using the steam overlay, I noticed that it left a "Ghost Image" in the background, I had to bring up the overlay again in order to make it vanish, this happened when in active cover and opening the steam overlay.

5. Floating bolts, presumably when killed while pulling it back.

Self explanatory, random bolts from rifles have been spotted when people were killed during the reloading sequence.

6. Can't bandage when in active cover.

When the bandage prompt came up, if you were next to a wall, it would automatically move into cover, this caused you to be stuck and unable to bandage, thus making you bleed out.

7. Server list causes large amounts of lag, potentially causes runtime errors and CTD (Crash to Desktop).

Whenever the server list is brought up, immense lag will hit, this has only crashed me once but from what I'm noticing I'm not the only one having this issue.

Potential Changes

1. Moving list of squads down, blocking off lower slots.

We noticed that sometimes when selecting a squad, the lower squad got "Pushed off" and were hard to select, this was because the squad selection would immediately snap back up to the top and caused the menu to bug out.

2. Font size for menus needs to be smaller, too much merging.

The font can be a bit large causing parts of the game menu's to overlap making it hard to read, this is noticed in the controls menu in options.

3. Auto Select Feature.

When selecting which side, an auto select feature would be nice, I haven't spotted one when it comes to this.

DAY 2 - More bugs:

1. Changing to pistol mid reload caused the player to hold an "Invisible rifle"

2. MAP: Apartments - stuck between truck and boxes on russian side just accross the bridge

3. Placed command - squad member respawned - red crosshair stuck on screen, doesn't disappear until map is pulled up.

4. sometimes clicking squad leader as a spawn doesn't spawn you on squad lead

5. MG points tend to be in stupid places, usually having some form of wall or sandbag blocking the view, also turning circles for MGs tend to be quite restrictive.

6. Outline of "Protected Area" should be shown on maps such as fallen Heros or any that use protected spawn areas.

7. Tank sounds stop abruptly, no sign of cause, tends to happen randomly, happened to both me and a friend of mine.

7. After it happened the user purposefully downsized, tried editing the volume sliders, switched server, and switched map. Only solution was to close the game down and restart

10. Bugged cover points, next to any door, sometimes it won’t let you peak around {Confirm?}

11. Team switch moves a player over indiscriminately, regardless of where or what the player is doing. [Bout to score a kill on a german? Server no care, NOW YOU ARE AXIS! >:3]

12. Instant death with role switch. Causes a penalty for you, your team, etc. [Ohh, marksman spot opened... Let me just... “Server: -2 Penalty! But you have your class now :D” - “Player: FFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUU”] (Game Break)

13. Multiple reports of G41 rifle’s bolt being stuck open after reloading. As well as the magazine having rounds in it while it was

14. KaR-98: coming out of sprint fires the weapons {One Off?}

15. Prone, turning, the camera will jerk back to were they where.

16. When in scope, getting to close to a object (Wall, box, etc) will shove the users head into the scope {Confirm?} (Cosmetic)

Suggestion: Toggle Ironsights

The Mini map issue, is caused due to Tabbing out. as i understand.

It is stated that it's caused by resizing up from an alt tab, but still something that should be looked at because, lets be fair here, people sometimes need to tab out for certain things.

The bugs i had on the first day of beta

The bugs i had on the first day of beta

1. Automatically running after respawn without the chance of stopping, had to reconnect to the server.

2. Automatically firing my whole MP magazine after respawn.

3. Switched from Axis to Allies but still my name was in the namelist of the Axis - although I spawned as Ally. Furthermore I didn't see the nicknames over the other Allies players but saw the enemy Axis players from 1000 yards because their nicknames were floating over their heads. Really sucks for them, when they think they are in good cover. Had this bug at least 10 times.

4. When I played as a Russian I accidently spawned at the Axis spawnpoint. Quite confusing when you spawn in the middle of your enemies.

5. Very often had a red cross on the screen that would only disappear if I open the map with "m" and close it again.

6. Often couldn't change the team although it should have been possible to switch.

We made this about two hours past the stick'ied thread. Would rather update this post then have to post in six different locations about the same thing. However, if the administration asked us to post there: We will.

Reassigning Use, bandage, and cover to separate keys is the biggest change to gameplay this game needs.

These happened multiple times to me yesterday, at least once every map.

1. Another bug that occurred on fallen fighters was that I was infantry and for the hell of it ran up to my teams tank and hit the use key, I became trapped in the model of the tank and if I hit 2 I became the gunner. Nothing would get me out of the tank and when I suicided, the tank blew up.

I've had a bug with the spawn selection menu, so far I've only seen it on apartments.
The menu sometimes decides it should be closed when you open it with the keyboard button. about a half a second after you open it, making it impossible to choose a spawn point, usually the squadleader.). This keeps happening until you spawn, but it can be different every death. I've seen it happen 5 respawns in a row, and sometimes the behavior is "back to normal" every other respawn.
