Lately, it seems that the majority of the community at large has been ignoring that such a weapon existed. The ill-fated LAW which has been shunned ever since the beginning of Killing Floor's inception, has failed to capture the interests of most experienced players. Even today, has there been a rarer species than a player who willingly uses the LAW as a weapon most commonly used prior for battles against the Patriach. However, due to shoddy hit box detection with the LAW, it would easily go right through the Patriach if the player aimed above the waist. With its low damage output and lack of raw damage befitting such a weapon, the future of the LAW looks grim.

It did seem that with the addition of the Demolitionist perk it would breathe some life back to the LAW, but unfortunately the perk's discount on explosive do not apply to the LAW, as it still costs the same $1500 to purchase it. Ironically, the icon that represents the LAW isn't the Demolitionist but the Support Specialist. I think it would be high time for some changes to be made to bring back the LAW into purview of the player's arsenal selection.

Seriously, LAW users have been extinct for the longest time now. It might be better to remove the weapon altogether in spite of stiff competition with the grenade launcher that were implemented with the latest content update.

You forgot to mention that it weighs 14 freaking blocks so you completely give up on the option to carry any other shooter, unless you're a high level support.
However, the law did see some damage update since the last patch, that didn't make it a very useful weapon though, just turn it into a not-too-useless one. Sadly.
I thought when the update would come, introducing the demo perk, everyone would run around with the big bad one, blowing serious **** up.
Unfortunately, the new demo weapons rendered the LAW completely obsolete due to their incredibly low (why is that anyway? I'd imagine the revolver nader to weight a ton!) weight.

Yup I suggest that the LAW be the most powerful DEMOMAN weapon in the game.

I think it should just get a super high increase in damage and recoil and be only a one shot type deal. Thus the high damage for the one shot business trade-off is nicer and makes sense.

i think the law should be like "the nuke" weapon, with a fuel air projectile or something like that

Thats what I been trying to tell people, the LAW is more useful as a Support class weapon. Its misiles also count as shotgun damage. It gets 3 extra rounds and I suspect it may get prenatration, but would need a dev to confirm that. Plus the bonus carry weight from the support class enables you to have another weapon alongside the LAW other than a 9mm.

But the Law doesnt really seem effecitive during the waves on hard dificulty and up. So for harder games it seems useless to have.

This is very confusing to be honest. I tested LAW on solo mode (hard difficulty and poundamonium mutator) and I noticed that with support perk it takes 2 rockets to kill an FP, while with demoman it only takes 1 rocket.. Makes sense to share LAW with demoman and support? Support gives you 3 extra rockets but demoman deals more damage. Ehh?

I vaguely remember the LAW being a support weapon in the mod version.

Maybe something carried over..?

We totally need a Redeemer! :D
Strange Love FTW!!!!:p

But ya, you people are right about the law, it is neglected, i actually use a law unlike other people...when ever Im a medic (mp7m SUCKS, its a choo choo gun!) I mean it has a high weight, 15 rockets, long reload times (i guess), takes a few rockets to kill fp when you can kill a fp with a full clip of a autoshotgun or autonadelauncher. I would like to see the law having a bigger hit radius, and slightly more powerful maybe...i mean it should since its freakin heavy...makes sense to me(its also a FREAKIN ROCKET LAUNCHER!!!!), back in killing floor when it was still a mod, on the 7th wave half the team was full of laws and hunting shotgunners :p now its just full of AUTOMATIC SHOTGUN FTW!!!

EDIT: also btw the first achievement i got was The LAW that Broke the Camel's Back

On "level up" patch the LAW was indeed buffed a bit. On demoman it kills FP with 1 rocket on solo hard, but it is still a support weapon? Oh cmon, try to decide already which perk will have it.

Yes, the LAW has been sort of the unwanted child of this game. Though I'm not familiar with this game as a mod, I am painfully familiar with it as a standalone.

Honestly, seems to me the LAW should be reduced to ten pounds, matching just about every other heavy weapons in the game. I'm also thinking that the blast radius should be reduced, the clip dropped to 5, and the damage increased exponentially.

Let's say this is an Anti-Tank weapon, it shouldn't have a big explosion radius when it contacts something tough, like a Fleshpound, it should blow thru it.

The technology or the coding might not be there, but in my mind, it should do some/all of the following:

1) Massive damage to the target, and a cone shaped explosion passing thru and hitting specimens/targets behind.

2) Stun or outright kill larger specimens (I.E. Bloats, Scrakes, Fleshpounds)

3) Be affected by the Demolition perk's discount.

With it set up like this, a demo can carry pipes, plus a LAW, and then a Medigun/Katana, or a LAW + M79/Handcannons/9mms. It would mirror the other perk's weapon choices, involving which you want more, the rapid fire launcher (better for multipurpose), or the LAW (stopping power for the big boys).

Just my two cents.

Just remove it from the game, it has no place or purpose when all the other weapons fill the requirements adequately.

Yup I suggest that the LAW be the most powerful DEMOMAN weapon in the game.
Seriously, it's a bloody anti-tank weapon firing a HEAT round. Any squishy thing hit with that would be cut in half or out right vaporized.

Reduce its ammo count to 4 and weight enough so you can carry at least a shotgun. Increase the damage drastically so it can take off a Fleshpounds head with a well placed shot. That would make it more useful for heavier specimens, but wasteful to be used on the lesser ones.

Yes, LAW should be more usefull. Way way less ammo count, 3 base, 6 with 6th perk lvl and with enough firepower to send flashpound and everything in area of splash damage to hell by 1 shot. Longer reload time.

Replace it with the M202 rocket launcher, move it to Firebug, and lose the ridiculous smoke screen.

why not just remove the current law which looks nothing like the real one, and let people buy the 'real looking' law. a one shot tube, weighin in at about 1-2kg per tube, with a max of 3 tubes. these tubes then do nice large ammountts of damage. but you can only carry 3 at any time...

I would actually rather it be an alternate choice to the m32. Not better, but not worse. Able to kill a Fleshpound in one shot, and with 11 weight. Still restrictive, but it allows you to carry either a katana, a medigun, or pipebombs.
