The KF1 Voice acting is still far better than in KF2

I just want to know if its possible to be able to mod the game with the old Scrake and flesh pound audio, same with the character dialogue, it feels tacky and really forced, really puts me off of playing after a while.

You know guys, I seem to recall suggesting that Alan get some voices in as an easter egg and having him respond that he'll be doing something a lot better than that. I'm going to guess we're still in the dark on what that is.

It might not be something quite as significant as voicing an entire character, but is it at all possible that he voiced DJ Scully? After all, only the devs have access to him right now.

As much as I miss few quirks of KF1 voices, I do not see really anything wrong with KF2 voices aside from individual lines vary from decent to just... eh. Taunting zeds is probably the worst offender as they sound more like rants and grumbling than taunts. They do make sense in context but meh.

Otherwise I find the dialogue smooth, if repetitive ala L4D.

Bumping this thread cause...

well, first of all, again, I very much disagree. When I started playing KF2 (yesterday lol), I just loved the voice acting, and how different characters would talk to each other, comment on the environment, etc.

Also, people have been talking about the lack of humor. I do find many of the characters' comments amusing. It may not be as much as KF1, but it's certainly enough. The game doesn't feel more serious to me. If anything, it feels more silly since half the time, the characters are talking about how they want money.

And honestly, I'm making this post, because I don't know if anyone has tried running off as Ana, but earlier, I got lost/separated from the group, and she started singing "All by myself". I lost it. :p

The lines in KF1 are quite hilarious and I love them!

But it always felt weird that nearly all the characters sounded the same. I like how in kf2 the characters have more unique personalities each with different voice actors, as opposed to kf1 where everyone was saying the exact same thing.

Also part of what made kf1 voice acting so amusing was how it just sounded corny and goofy.

One thing I noticed with KF2's banter is that the sarcasm is at least a bit more subtle.

I still like it cause now every character has a unique voice and a personality to match.

As far as "everyone in KF1 sounded the same", frankly, outside of the reverend and the Asian guy, I can't tell who is who when listening to the battle chatter. The voice acting is just that bland and flat.

I like that there are new voices, but I do agree that everybody is way too "serious". I mean, come on, it's a bunch of mercs fighting giant cloned mutants in an underground supervillain lair, at least have them enjoy it!

I like Skully for exactly this reason, he's fun. This is a fun game, its characters should be having as much fun as we are.

I feel like it is actually the voice command menu (or lack there of) which is causing the hate for the voices.
I've been playing a fair bit and love the unique voices for each character and a lot of the lines are comical.
The issue is, I want to be able to do it myself and I can't the voice command wheel is utterly horrible and is missing what makes Killing floor, killing floor. I want to be able to say yes, no, insult players, hold up here, run etc, whenever I want and I just can't. It takes too much effort to use the wheel and the automated messages just become white noise when you are playing.

Yeah I agree, the voice acting is great don't get me wrong, but it's not as humorous as it was in kf1

The VA is... competent. Bland, mostly flatly delivered and unoffensive, but it's far from great.

This is not a game with a plot and characters who tell stories and need to express emotions. This is a fast paced coop shooter with cartoons running around blowing nasties up. The only way to make this sort of thing work is to inject as much character, quirkiness and humor in the characters.

I repeat, I am only able to tell the reverend and the Asian guy by their voice alone. Everyone else sounds... the same.

It's not even the VActors' fault. It's the director who wrote the characters and their lines and instructed and directed the voice actors who's to blame.
