Nips has a video where we take him down faster, but that was still really fast.

Nice work!

Video Help

Video Help

Hi ppl!

I have been playing kf for some time now, and i have tried to record some videos using the program FRAPS but when i record for like 30sec the video size gets really big=/ have have recorded the last wave some times but the files are just to big to upload to youtube=/

I see lots of ppl here having really nice quality on there videos and some have 1080p on youtube. How do you get the videos files not to be huge?

And are you using any other program them fraps to make the video files smaller?
Is so, what program is it?

I have tried vitualdub or what's it called but i still get pretty huge files sizes=/ like 1-3gb some times:S

My fraps video setting are:
Nothing market in the benchmarks settings
60fps
Half-size
loop buffer length, 30

And sorry if the info is wrong or something but i don't know that much about the program:p

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME SO I CAN RECORD GAME VIDEOS?
if this is in the wrong place just say so and i will remove it and add a pic or something to make it right:)

FRAPS is probably your best bet for recording if you have a good computer, Bandicam is also a decent alternative if you have the money. To decrease a file size on a game recording, run it through Windows Media Maker or a video editing program like Sony Vegas and change the file type/bitrate to lower file sizes. I use bandicam at 15 FPS at 800x600 resolution, and my videos come out to under 160mb for 11 mins of video.

Hi, i made this test video, just like 1min long but i was just testing the quality and to see how long it took to use the file i got from fraps that was on 2.5gb in size, and then add it to windows live movie make and upload it as a 1080 movie directly to youtube true live movie maker.

And i can say that it did't take all that long time, keeping in mind that i only have a 1mbit connection up speed. But i think the quality was great and now i just hope that my computer can run fraps in that setting. But i will try the Bandicam tomorrow and see if thats any good and maybe don't give me all that work just to made a video.

Thanx for the help:)

msi afterburner is also great, the latest beta has recording with different compression, I get minimal impact, sub 20%, performance hit when recording

Looking over your fraps settings in the other post, recording at 60fps is a waste, your doubling the data recorded, but fraps will probably lock you to 30fps in game if you set it to that, mine usually does on a bit of action on screen

There is work around to capture your mic for afterburner in your windows mic settings, make it so your mic comes out your speakers

Yeah, to get my mic to come through my recording, Bandicam has a setting to allow capture of a secondary audio source (which I set as my mic) on a key press, which is my shift key. I use shift to activate mic on both KF in game and Teamspeak, depending on if I have teamspeak up or not. That's one of the benefits of Bandicam. I have a rather crappy computer, so Bandicam allowing me to record at 15 FPS allows it to not lag me while recording.

Now that im home and can find the setting, in your microphone properties, theres a Listen tab, check the box and playback through dfault device (same device listed for audio in afterburner.

I'd recommend trying Afterburner (sheesh i sound like an advert) quality is right up there but not quite with Fraps, but with hardly any performance hit (i dont notice any drop of fps when recording at 1280x720, a slight hitch of about 10fps in places (down from 90) when recording at 1920x1080

i may give bandicam a try soon though, ive used Fraps/Playclaw as well, so far Afterburner wins performance wise for me
