The Grotto.

From the interviews available we can assume the Grotto serves as the sharks home and place of evolution. Just wondering aside from allowing evolution / skin changes, what other purposes will it serve. Maybe it'll change based on story / game progression eg trophy storage ?

I believe we can use it for fast points on the map.

Each region has a grotto, and once unlocked can be used to fast travel.

Oh ok I thought it was one grotto but I was right about the fast travel. That's food to know we have fast travel as Jaws Unleashed didnt.

It's essentially a safe house, no different from say Saints Row, GTA or the Far Cry series.

In one of the video clips I saw an alligator in one of the grottos and the person playing had their shark kill the gator.

That soundslike the safe houses in Saints Row, except they git ambushed with humans lol
