I'm kinda in the middle on this issue. Of course, progression in games are fun, but I don't know If I enjoy it that much in multiplayer games like Red Orchestra.
One example. Bought Bad Company 2 for the pc. Played it for a few hours, it was fun. But then I noticed that alot of weapons required some real grinding. So after this discovery my mood while playing changed. Instead of playing for just having fun, I started playing just to get that precious XP, and while doing that I was not having the same amount of fun that I had in beginning. I told myself "Man, after I unlock that weapon I'm going to play the game again just to have fun". That never happend. I grew tired of the game. When I quit I still had alot of XP left to grind to get that damn weapon.
I never got this feeling when I started to play the original Red Orchestra. It was just plain fun. Never felt the force to do well all the time, to get that XP.
Anyway. This worries me a bit. I mean, some grinding could be fun, but at the same time I'm affraid that RO2 will end in the same way. At least for me.
So, how do you all feel about this?
