Wanna here a ffuuuu? I'll give you one.
I went to sleep for abit, leaving my PC open.
During my sleep, the processor fan stopped working for some hellish reason. This resulted the processor burning down, taking down the fuse in the house and burning the PSupply and the mobo.
thats a fffuuu

To keep you updated on my dental front:

The pain comes from a botched root canal from five years ago. Bugger. Dentist's trying to save the tooth, and tomorrow I will know if the tooth's a goner or redeemable.

This morning I was sitting in the metro when I noticed some chipsy playing some instrument. I thought ok, you sometimes have that. Then I noticed that infront of him was a boy, maybe 3-4 years old, begging the people for money. That made me rage. They left the train at the next station, I kept a low profile and followed them + called the cops. They asked him for his papers and what he was doing etc., anyways I took the next train to get to work. I thought I might just have saved the kid from further abusement and thought the police would make sure the kid is taken into child welfare or something. Now a few hours ago, at late afternoon, I was on my way home on the subway and what do I see -> they were there AGAIN :rolleyes: Either those policemen were a bunch of retards or our jurisdiction is seriously broken.

Yeah, because a free, democratic sate of law will forcefully pull children out of a family because of one minor infraction... Working in youth care as avocation, I do see many dysfunctional families. But still, as long as there is no "real" sexual or violent abuse (or rather, no indication for it), government agencies are very reluctant to pull children out of their homes. And rightly so, as not only it's a highly traumatic affair, institutionally brought up children tend to not have the best starting point in life.

So, nothing wrong with jurisdiction here. The problem rather is that people still need to beg for money for a meager living.

And don't even start about "social parasites". In Austria, the percentage of people abusing our system of social care and help is less than two percent. There are theories that the number of people not applying for social care even though they would be entitled to it far outnumber those few "parasites".

OOOOOOOOOOOOOR The guy was the boy's loving father and they are beggars who have absolutely no money, and the cops didn't arrest them because no one is doing anything illegal. Wow.

Not a crappy day, but a FUUUU moment, at least. Today I wanted to give a surprise to my little brother, and sent him Arkham Asylum as a gift via steam. After I sent him, I noticed that he only have 4 activations and securom!.

Dammit, if I buy something I'm supposed to use it as many times as I want.

I'll go and kill some xenons to calm myself now

I say better safe than sorry, because the one day you ignore it, then that'll be the time something was really wrong and you passed up the opportunity to help. Then everyone else will be all over you for not attempting to investigate.

Better to take the flak your getting and know your conscience is clear.

Moe...there is a thin line between "good intent" and "stupidity"

And from how his comment was worded i call the later. OFC it could be forced child labour, on the other hand thats how those people survive in this society. Thin line really. But beside that, i for one whould never sneak behind people and call the cops on them, only if i whitness abuse or something. And as rattus pointed out, for children its allways traumatic to be forcefully removed from their families.

Hmm, don't see what's so upsetting about the child begging for money while his father was playing/begging. Not that I don't pitty them or anything like that, but it's not like he has hitting him because he came back with no money. It is sad that there are people living poorly like that, not that a kid was "used" to collect money.

We have some rather large families of gypsies in my town and it's just the way they live. A lot of help has been offered to them from time to time but they either turn it down or just take what they want and leave the rest. Last time I think they were given some abandoned houses at the outskirts of the town (in a quite expensive area mind you) but they only got in, took all the metals and furnitures for selling them later on and then went back to the huts they live in all those years. And they usually prefer to keep their children with them to get them making money by begging or collecting anything valuable from the town's wastes rather than send them to school at all, which of course is illegal.

Ughh...gypsies make me sick to my stomach. I love the time where I was in Florence and a gypsy was begging me for money to survive. I had no problem turning her down when I caught a glimpse of her wearing knee-pads under her dress/skirt or whatever it was. They are so vile I can't believe they are human sometimes.
