Radar - a device for determining the presence and location of an object by measuring the time for the echo of a radio wave to return from it and the direction from which it returns.
Yeah Xendance, the radar thingy is what Tripwire is calling 'situational awareness' or something to that effect.. from what I understand they are saying this is information the soldier would know... but I disagree. You may be able to 'feel' your teammates around you, but is a radar showing them really necessary? If they move, do you have eyes in the back of your head to see where they moved to?
Again, it's another gamey crutch for people who have trouble with a challenge. It's much more challenging and realistic to have to listen and look around in order to know who is around you or where they have moved to; to use the voice comms in order to communicate position. In the end it's much more rewarding to rely on your combined skills as a team than it is to be given radars and zooming, etc. In fact, if I were designing this game, I would add only local chat to the game, not full team chat.
Besides, if it only shows teammates... what the hell is the point of it anyway? What good does it do you?
