so... GTX285 has the exact same performance in all games?

Its a marketing slide that tells us nothing as there is no numbers.

The benchmarks i posted on the previous page are better.

ive seen 2 arma 2 benchmarks for this.

I have to say they perform about 1.6 as fast as the hd4890, which i consider a decent result. It is the fastest single gpu solution by far and most likely with future driver updates we should see more performance increase.

It seems to be memory bottlenecked though. So if you get this a oc of the ram might result in wonders.

Do you have links to the Arma 2 benchmark?

Shame they had to keep the 256bit memory bus when doubling up pretty much everything else. I know they wanted to keep the die small but it seems like a wasted effort.

Still its a fast card but i am disappointed, i wanted it to be faster than my GTX 295, or at least pretty much equal.

Well remember that when the gtx280 came out. The 9800gx was also still faster in allot of games.

The jump ati made with the hd3870 to hd4870 which was about a 100% jump rarely gets made.

But yeah, expect another boost as soon as we see dx11 games. There are transistors reserved for dx11 funcitonality aswell as dx11 handling several things faster and more efficient.

I dunno bout you guys but the gap inbetween the screens would bug the hell out of me.
There are a few monitors out there that have seamless multidisplay functionality. The NEC CRV43 comes to mind.
There are even projector systems out there that are made for seamless projection at 1080p60.

It's a technology which still has to naturalize.

You can't expect ATI hardware to perform better than nVidia solutions if the software has been optimized for nVidia hardware (or rather deoptimized using proprietary techniques).

Once developers and engine programmers implement proper rendering engines using render paths which are fully standard-compliant, then people can make real comparisons.
