I laughed, I cried. He will be missed, Ogeltez the DP-28 dual wielding horse who made swiss cheese out of snipers and took out panzers.

Ogeltez was born in a small town east of Moscow, there he spent his early days learning how to pull carts to market. One day his owner, Vladimir, enlisted in the Soviet army, towards the end of basic training it was "bring your horse to the base today" when Vladimir brought Ogeltez the commander at the base saw how efficiently Ogeltez pulled carts and recruited him to move artillery pieces. Ogeltez moved artillery pieces all over western Russia, defending the areas the 6th army attacked. When the 6th army attacked Stalingrad Ogeltez and Vladimir were sent eastward with their platoon to give artillery support to be shot over Stalingrad and at advancing German forces. When the Russians were being pushed back in the north of Stalingrad Vladimir, who was then promoted to an artillery sergeant, was commanded to take supplies over the Volga to the falling Russian line. On their way there they encountered a Panzer IV that had gotten lost from its brigade. The aimbot machine gunner decimated Vladimir's entire squad and just left Vladimir, Ogeltez and their cart, left in a small gully. Ogeltez looked at Vladimir and neighed. Vladimir knew what to do. Vladimir put an RPG-40 in Ogeltez's is mouth. Vladimir threw a smoke grenade. Ogeltez ran toward the Panzer pulled the pin and dropped the grenade on the engine compartment and ran back to Vladimir. They had a short celebration and commemorated their fellow squad mates who were torn apart by the aimbot machine gunner. They continued to the town of Spartanovka where there was a lone German sharpshooter holding the church. Ogeltez galloped into the centre of town, supply cart in tow, but right before reaching the main street, a shot went off, Ogeletez tripped and the cart tipped over. Ogeltez immediately took cover behind the cart only to notice that he wasn't hit, but Vladimir was. Vladimir said quietly to Ogeltez "You remember when we tried to make that special saddle?" Ogeltez neighed. "Well I finished it last week, it's under the crate of PPShs" said Vladimir. Ogeltez opened a case which was now thrown out of the cart. It was a saddle with 2 DP-28's mounted on it on each side. They were fired by mouth. Ogeltez strapped on the saddle. In the last moments of his life Vladimir managed to throw a smoke grenade. Ogeltez managed to rush all the way to the church firing his machine guns, the lone sharp shooter was nothing but Swiss cheese in seconds. When Ogeltez returned he approached Vladimir, but all Vladimir had to say, with his final breath, was "good-bye brother" and at that very moment Ogeltez collapsed and a moment later died of a broken heart. The bond between Russian and horse has never been stronger.

I laughed. I cried. I had a Luger pointed to the roof of my mouth about to pull the trigger.... and then I read this thread.

TWI, please add "FOR OGELTEZ!!" as one of the screams when running with the bayonet in ready mode. It's the least you can do.

Will the IS-2 secede in favour of Ogeltez, the 1st Horse of Stalingrad?

They took Ogeltez's DNA and fused it with a T34. The resulting explosion destroyed most of the lab, but the IS-2 rolled out of the wreckage and proceed to single-handedly win WWII for the Soviets.

TWI, please add "FOR OGELTEZ!!" as one of the screams when running with the bayonet in ready mode. It's the least you can do.

DO IT! DO IT NOW!

It'll be the new Shambeh Bambeh!
