[FONT=verdana, arial, helvetica]Well, I must urge anyone to not see this movie. If you have read the book, the movie will disgust you and if you have not read the book, you will come out mostly confused.

This movie was a huge disgrace to the book, huge. I will not reveal anything for anyone. But I will say, if you want to see the movie I highly suggest you read the book first...otherwise you will have no idea why, what, and how things are. Crutial moments were skipped or altered completely, they added stuff that never even happened, information and conclusions were drawn from nowhere (or would have seemed so to anyone who had not read the movie). The movie felt as though it had no solidity. It was more than halfassed. Character development was completely off from the book, and most of all...it had to be one of the most sickening attempts at political correctness when it came to Langdon.

I know few will listen to me, but I must urge it anyway.

I find it very interesting that the press and mostly everyone else says the video is joke/is bull****. They sure get payed good for saying that.

Unfortunately, I disagree with the initial poster entirely. I read the book as well as Dan Brown's "Angels and Demons" before it. Personally, I thought the movie was fine but of course, everyone always says, "It's not as good as the book." Is anything as ever good as the book? Of course not. You can do thinks with literature that you could never do with a movie because people do not have the patience or the attention span to watch a film that is a week long; albeit an interesting concept.

My opinion is, draw your own conclusions. I for one enjoyed the movie and the casting was excellent with the exception of Tom Hank's hair. It was just creepy. Oh, and I saw the movie with three other people who range from a literature expert to my father (an ordinary fireman who loves movies but has read the book as well) and they all enjoyed it.

I refuse to read the book. I have read enough of Dan Brown's work to know that he has a very poor writing style, and I have heard enough of the plot of the Da Vinci Code to decide that to me it holds no interest and sounds generally pretty fucking stupid.

I hate anything that gets that much hype, especially when, like the Da Vinci Code, it's clearly crap.

I wish people would make their own fucking minds up when in comes to "taste" in music, books, etc. Most people like what the media tell them to and that pisses me off no end.

Right now I'm reading Don Quixote (/Don Quijote/El Quijote/whatever). Now that's a book. :)

The book was badly written crap so I wasn't really holding out for the film to be much better. I'm with Stephen Fry on this one "Complete loose-stool-water. Arse-gravy of the very worst kind."

I'm sorry man, but I hate reading movie scripts. SO BORING.

I feel the complete opposite about watching books though.

I enjoyed the movie. I haven't read the book and I agree about the lack of solidity. What's this about political correctness with Langdon?

Read the book last night in one sitting. It was good, I just don't like how Dan Brown presents facts and opinions(or lack thereof. Everything is complete solid fact, even in his damn preface).

Pretty stupid move to name Teabing after one of the men you're basing the book on, though.

Won't go see the move, as the book was already a disappointment.
All the riddles, especially the one to open the second krybtex, were so badly done, and the solution was so obvious. In fact, it only took the last line to solve it...

Also, Dan Brown seems to have an "I am an American and have no idea about Europe" paragraph in every book. In "Illuminati" Vittoria described how she would roll down hills full of Edlewei

Ah, Fyodor Dostoyevski. Only gripe with him: He's a russian classic, and thus, i find his books terribly boring, with the big exception og "Crime and Punishment", which is one of my alltime favourite books.

There's a bit in that film which made all the Londoners laugh.

"We have to get to Chelsea Library!"

He really should have checked out Chelsea Library before writing that line.

Ahh, it's nice to read people opinions about Dan browns books and how poorly written they are! I'm not a big reader but I read digital fortress and enjoyed it, then read deception point wasnt particually impressed, it seemed very similar. Then read the da vinci code and finally realised how bad his writing is, everything is presented as fact even his own opinions / conspiracies, he cant descibe anything to save his life, and as a result has to write the fast paced stories which is the only thing that gets people hooked in!
I'm now reading The Bourne Identity by Robert Ludlum which is fairly reasonable so far :)
