Facetiousness aside, this whole "I hate teh MKB/MKB" smacks of the usual "I'm an uber-733t vet and wont touch the pleb COD-heads weapons" elitism. Its not going to catch on, its sad, its boring, its tiresome. Go out and make a declaration of support for democracy in Burma as opposed to not using virtual weapons in a god damn videogame. Actually please don't take up the elite assault class, leave it open for me so I can shoot you in the face with my reflex-sight enhanced lvl 50 MKB. BAZINGAAAAAA!

I just think this is divisive, some kind of wasted effort to "cleanse" the community or something based on a group's (majority/minority- who cares) own ideas of who should be ALLOWED to enjoy the game. And this probably from the same group of people who often lament how the games community is shrinking... not everyone enjoys bolt action play. I have no prob with either to tell you the truth, and for me, the gameplay and competition (however a mixed and frustrating bag it is) is more important than some purity aspect. OK, sorry I am a casual gamer... If you want to play without certain built-in aspects of the game then start and play on servers with a different settings mode for what you seek. This divisiveness is really IMO unhealthy for the community at large - i think TI should step in an back up this position. So sick of this holier-than-thou position of a portion of the community. I think we're better than that as a group and this forum has so far been able to exist without adding to this sort of childish acrimony so commonplace in the forums supporting say ... COD.

Last night I was the target of a 30 second rant by some nasally-voiced sperg after a single accidental TK. A few nights before, I was in a match where I heard "******" used more often than in the entirety of DMX's debut album way back when. This community as a whole has alot more in common with CoD than it wants to admit. Bolt action rifles as the primary weapon isnt going to change that.
I dont think this topic is divisive really, its just people making a tongue-in-cheek stand. They arent expecting TWI to just drop the MKB, its just a few like-minded people in a Steam Group.

I use the mkb practically, I pick one up if I see it... I usually can get 3-4 kills with it when I do.
But I don't really use assault that much so... I haven't unlocked it yet

But I don't really use assault that much so... I haven't unlocked it yet
I used one once, looted off a dead German attacking the last objective in Spartanovka. Killed two attacking Germans trying to come through the windows with it. It was used pretty much like an SMG, just sweeping the room I was in by the attacker and had managed to kill a fellow Russian soldier. Its a magnificent weapon stat wise though, but I just cant bring myself to invest in another class until I max out my K98 to level 50 43 and counting so far!

I'd rather invest my time in working on the MP40, PPsH or SVT, it's a more common weapon.
Thing about mkb/avt is that they're (sensibly) limited to a few guns. I'd much rather have a high level MP40 so I can be more effective as engineer, assault, squad leader, commander
Look, just as the game gives you the freedom to use your Mkb and level it till your brain fries from killing bots, the game gives me the freedom to blindfire half a magazine of 7.62mm x 25mm Tokarev into your face and empty the rest into your twitching corpse, or dash around a corner and bayonet you so hard the front sights of my Mosin-Nagant come out through your ribcage, or leave you bleeding out from a gutshot only to toss a cooked grenade at your feet to finish you off.
A couple nights ago, I was running an experiment to see how many Mkb-farmers I could kill on near-empty servers in Classic Mode, jumping to make sure I was fully exhausted, firing a Mosin from a standing, unsupported position at all times to totally maximize sway. I was pleasantly surprised.
So you like the Mkb? Good for you, more power to you. I like killing Mkbs. That is all my signature signifies. I don't expect Tripwire to ever remove the weapon from the game. In all honesty, the weapon is modeled and animated quite well, and it feels good when I shoot it--in practice mode. My Mkb is still at level zero.
And is it just me, or do a lot of Mkb users just suck at target identification? I typically see several Axis soldiers killed by their own Elite Assault Trooper every round, sometimes myself included, generally followed by a laconic "srrz" in apology. Amusing. Seriously--your average Mkb user is actually kind of hilarious. You'll see them demonstrating incredible tactical ineptitude and lack of situational awareness... chasing doggedly after enemies that are clearly lying in wait around a corner, firing determinedly from a fully exposed position, entering a room and completely failing to see the enemy soldier crouched in one corner... I watch one for a few seconds and think "someone is going to shoot him inside the next three seconds" and DING! my prophecy is fulfilled. These days, the Mkb and those who use it are a far greater source of humor for me than they are a source of annoyance.

I never lament of shrinking, I just want a game mode without the mkb, thats all. No more no less.
You'll think differently when I cap you with a mosin from across the map.

And maybe, yes, it is a pc game. How about that, people taking games seriously? With Euro 2012 you'de think people didn't give a crap about games. Games keep us going, they bring us together, and tear us apart, in short, they are an intergral part of human existance.
