I plan to have the first beta of The Battle of Kursk: Belenkhino ready for testing Friday morning. Any brave server admins interested in hosting?

All tanks.

Takes place on the original battlefield.

Playable area of the map measures nearly 5 kilometers square.

At this point it is fairly basic. I need to see how humans play on it. So far it has just been me and 59 bots destroying tanks.

It is unoptimized. We might get terrible framerates or perfect fast fps. I really don't know. This is an experiment. As far as I know it is the largest map ever made for Red Orchestra (larger than Krivoi Rog even).

Don't rush buddy.... seems there's a trub with Steam updates etc...

Hmm. Just poured my first cup of coffee, cooked the map, fired up RO2, and tried to run the map and it crashed.

Edit: I just tried to run it from the editor, Play in window, and it works (though I can't get bots). Last time I tried in main game I preceded the Open TE-etcetera with the cmd to show drawcalls, going to try again with just the map.

Edit: ran main game, just entered Open TE-Kursk?minplayers=60 and the map started to load, showed the screen Destination: Custom Map, and about the time the map normally starts, it crashed.

The first line is normal in the cooking process (RandomMirrorDisc always throws an error). THe ones after that are not normal.

Edit: 8:14 am
Went into the Published dir and found that the most recent versions were from an hour ago, not the most recent. Deleted all of them including the shaders, now cooking. Seems none of it was overwritten in the most recent cook. (thought there was something odd since it took far less time than usual).

Recooked and the files are written anew. Lets see what happens now.

VICTORY! Map loads fine.

Delete all the previous Cooked stuff in PUblished. For some reason it won't overwrite as it usually used to. Recook. Fight!
